I did the wooden stock for the nail gun, also edited certain parts of the nail gun to make it more close to anime. Also im gonna port the mod to warband and it should probably be done sometime this year as I don't know how long it will take.
Awesome about the port thing, MB:W beats MB any day.

Lol, what in warband is better than the original. If you can find me 1 reason why warband is better +1 cookie.
But...

...Three reasons you can't use:

-> Warband have multiplayer. Why: Because the multiplayer gameplay isn't comparable to singleplayer gameplay.
-> Warband have better graphics. Why: That is a very weak argument and if someone have only bought M&B, he won't be convinced by that.
-> Warband is more modder friendly(and anything similar to that). Why: I am not a modder and so are the majority of players.

Well warband is simply better overall, it has minor changes everywhere such as animations, combat and much much more. Haven't played warband that much though but overall it's better, not for me though as better graphics = more lag.

About the animations, will you be adding new ones? I hate the default ones.

As I have said before I have no experience in animations so I don't know anything about them, would like to have better ones so if you know of other mods which have them then let me know,

Nice work, some scenes look really good

you all probably want to play it on warband but im not going to be porting it.

I don't mean to sound bad but I agree with you completely (as much as I like some of your work). Dont port it! You've spent so much time on this mod - doing it entirely on your own and everything, and in my opinion its preventing you from really developing better skills in modelling and modding as a whole. Your work although occassionaly quite nice hasn't dramatically improved loads in the past year. And in my opinion this is entirely down to you trying to create a mod entirely on your own - your having to sacrifice quality for quantity.

I was for a time creating a lotr mod all by myself, I gave up and ended up giving alot of models to the veiled stars instead and since then my modelling has improved drastically as I can now spend much more time per piece and really take time to find out what looks good and what doesnt, whats the best way of doing stuff ect - instead of finding out whats the fastest or most time efficient way of doing stuff.

Finish this project or go as far with it as you can and then call it a day. You've done ridiculously well so far all by yourself but honestly its holding you back from getting better.

I dont mean this in a bad way at all xPearse, I'm just posting this as a bit of advice

If he's working on 2 games at the same time but doing the same mod, won't that double his experience and talent?

Hate is a strong word. Maybe dislike is more appropriate.

You said it yourself; Mount & Blade Warband has minor changes, not enough to convince someone who only owns Mount & Blade to buy Warband, but enough for someone who don't own any M&B games. I add that myself I don't have too big performance issues playing Mount & Blade Warband, but I admit that the size of battles must be smaller than in Mount & Blade and the fact that Mount & Blade Warband can be really unstable when playing big mods such as Peloponnesian War, while Mount & Blade handle well such mods.

Thanks your advice is noted, yea originally I didn't want to port it due to time and such but I don't have anything else to do and am not working on anything else so im gonna port it to warband. Quantity over quality, that's probably how the development went as I did cut corners.

Yea my skills haven't really improved, don't know if they ever will though as im not good with my own initiative when it comes to this stuff. At this stage I would call the project finished as there are just a few things here and there to do, no more large scale scenes or anything like that and im relieved that I don't have to do any more as it was really hard for me to do so. I could call it a day but im not doing anything else so why not work on it a little more and also port to warband.

I don't think I have what it takes to mod other games such as sword of the stars or sins of a solar empire as my skills aren't good enough, I can barley texture as it is. I stay with M&B because I can work on it and what I create it decent enough.

I wouldn't really say im working on two games as it takes two seconds to say add that nail gun im working on into the module system. My experience isn't increasing, it's like doing the same math question over and over. You won't learn any more if you don't take on a bigger question.

I've heard you say this on the 3d art thread, don't be ridiculous, have some optimism  Im sure you could do it.  just start on something simple like a sword, model it (which im sure you could do easily), then uv map it and then finally texture. Ill even take through the process step by step if you want and give you some tips. Pm me if you ever want help modelling and textureing - I wont claim to be amazing at it in the slightest but I reckon I can create some not bad stuff now, and know a lot of little tricks which may help you if you ever decide to try improve.

Im not kinda optimistic about this sort of stuff which is a bad thing and I know I should get better so I'll try out that sword tutorial on the forum and texture it. Thanks for offering as I'll pm you and you can give me some tips on making the texture better. Anyhow I added the tape parts, would have done this yesterday but I was working on the warband module system.

In Warband you can get married so that way your character doesn't remain the eternal virgin.  That's enough reason for me to play Warband!

Btw, Pearse, congrats on the mod.  I'm downloading it right now.  I was chuckling at the 33% of people that said you would never complete the mod .

Thanks for that, well those people are wrong now as the mods here in a 1.0 release.

Well I have the nail gun texture mostly complete, I only don't know what to do with the red section. Im really not suited for texturing try not to blame me, everything else is fine but the red part is meant to be plastic but I don't know how to make it like that as a texture. I could add black lines around the edges or something like that. Anyway I can now start doing more stuff with the warband module system.

Wow great! I like the simple texture! That's awesome!

I brushed up the texture and this looks much better, adding those lines around the edges made it look alot better.

Yea forgot to toggle the mesh back on but it's there anyhow. Im gonna do a tournament scene for the mod, sort of a fighting arena so here's what's done today. There are 4 box rooms which the players will spawn in and you will then enter the arena from there gladiator style so it should be fun. A large concrete room with people in the stands is what im looking for.

Well how do you feel now that your mod is done?  You must be pretty proud.

Are you planning on adding any other weapons?  I'm not sure what the anime has but more weapons are always great .

Well it is done from what I originally planned but im gonna add a few more stuff before I call it a day. The nail gun is a new weapon but other than the two variants of it I don't know about any new weapons.
