M&B Nasty with Win Me

Extraordinary game by the way :D

Here we go...

The game is ultra nasty with Win Me, I had all the difficulties in the world to make it run without crashing my system. I must be certain to not close any windows with the pre-game menu is on otherwise I get the "window' name" made an <unknown> error.

Another thing is the fact that if the game crashes to desktop, don't even think of relaunching it, you need to reboot at the very least. The first time it crashed to desktop for me, I could not play the game anymore, it froze my system each time I run the .exe, I had to uninstall and reinstall the game then modify the config file so that with trial and error I can play the game.

As soon as the beta become stable I might purchase it, for now, it's not worth the money for me, unstable games are not fun since you can basically lose all progress anytime by a crash.

Unlike... well... all other games in the same category, yours is the best I've seen in over 20 years of game playing.

With realistic save mode the game saves quite frequently, atleast if you fight a lot and visit towns.

But you are right, a game crashing all the time is a ***** (luckily MB doens't crash with me).

upon loading the game lol, it freezes my pc completely, and sometimes I need to do a hard reset so much the pc is unresponsive.

The crashes from game to desktop, beside the only battle I actually made outside the arena (covered in another topic), happens anywhere, I have not seen a particuliar thing that made the game crash to desktop in particuliar.

The annoying thing is the pre-game menu that causes all those errors in my desktop when I close windows and I think the game damaged my windows, it's a bit sluggish now at some point.

I had other crashes but those are already reported in the forums like the one in large battles.

Sucks that you are limited to level 6, all you can do at that level is compete in the arena. :( Anyways to unlock the game beside getting a serial number? ;)

Wish I had a credit card and buy that game... also wish all games were that deep and well made as this one instead of being just cheezy graphics and all but no contents or depth.

I also have Win ME and I'm having similar problems. Although mount & blade doesn't crash while i'm playing, every time I exit the game and want to play again afterwards, it shows the "Unknown Error" message and I have to reboot my comp.

This happens to me as well. I just cannot buy the game when it crashes so often. And it has taken a dislike to Nornton Anti-Virus. So annoying.

And since I ran it for the first time, my comp ain't as it was before, it's not as performant as it was before. strange.

well the thing about M&B is it takes up a lot of space while running(which is wierd because its only 35mb) try closing all theother applications and taking the graphics down, i odnt know how else i could help becasue i dont have windows ME...

That,s what I do, it's a bit better but you can,t close stuff while you have the pre game menu on or you get unknown errors for each window or program you end.

I had win ME long ago, and I can tell you pretty confidently that this is window's fault, not m&b. ME is rediculously unstable. I had similar problems with every game I played. Hell, my web browser caused scheduled blue screens. I think it was every 40 minutes or so. Anyways, I downgraded to win 2k pro and I never looked back. And this was when I was 10, so the harsher interface made a big difference. Just ditch win ME and get 2k or XP (or Vista if you have a MSDN subcription; it's supposed to be reasonably stable).
