"M&B has stopped working"

Hey!

After months playing M&B: Warband and WFAS, suddenly both give me an error when I launch them, right after the credits movie: ""M&B has stopped working".

It's very strange cause I did change nothing at all about these games, and only those are crashing now. I reinstalled them a couple of times, did nothing.
Steam version & windows XP here.

So far I guess it's about my graphical card, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. But no real clues.

Anyone knows a way to fix that? Thanks!

Edit: the error report points to this file: "C:\DOCUME~1\Izual\LOCALS~1\Temp\8ac5_appcompat.txt"

The Appcompat file is a Microsoft file that is generated with program/hardware incompatibility. That's the file that is used for Microsoft error reporting (if you select to send the errors to Microsoft). Make sure your drivers are up to date.

My drivers are up-to-date, yes. Maybe they are too much up-to-date, though?

Is the exact wording of the error "M&B has stopped working."?

Is there any other information that is given?

Do you have issues with any other games?

I would try changing graphic settings in the config menu, and
if that didn't do anything, try deleting rgl_config.txt,
if that didn't do anything try reinstalling the games
and then try reverting to a previous driver from the nvidia site
(testing in between each to see if the game works).

Also, check the sound drivers.

Hah, changing the graphic settings in config menu did work, actually! I have no idea what was wrong, but now it works. Thank you so much!
