This is sketch of Ramun the Slave Trader. He might be going to have cosmetic surgery later.

Ryuta 说:
By the way, Temjin, is Tanaka Rena popular in your country? She looks grown up.

nobody here knows her. I saw her in the GTO movie and searched internet for her. I decided she was beautifull and made that sig with some pictures I found of her

by the way, Ramun looks ok, tough a bit too friendly for a slave trader

Ryuta, where is the link to your portfolio website? You do have a portfolio site right?

I'm currently studying for a combination animation and illustration degree and if you're going to be posting this art here, you might as well have a link to your portfolio in your profile or signature.

Yes he looks a bit soft. Its because of my style. I always have problems drawing middle-aged man...

By the way, this one is Hareck

Now, almost a half of story is done. And hopefully, start layout sketch the next week.

Turtle. I'm now making one. I hope I could post the novel in my website (and one more).

Right now, I'm almost the end of sketch layouting. When it is finished, I'm going to draw them again for the final product.

The reason why it takes so long is, the story got bigger and bigger. It seems it's going to be 140 pages or so (I've drawn 120 pages so far). Also battle scenes are hard to draw. I've included only one huge battle scene but darwing tens of horses and fighers with different postures yet keeping the same proportion and consistency is a kind of nightmare...

But I promise, it will be complete oneday.

Wow, 120 pages allready! Thats one heck of a load or work!

Kudos to you Ryuta! I will delight in reading and looking at your story when it comes out!!!

Wow, this is the first I've seen this since I'm fairly new here... but, wow! Great work so far, love the art. Can't wait to see your finished graphic novel.

Those are some nice drawings, but to fit the mount&blade medieval ambient better I used one of your works and photoshoped it to make it look like it was drawn on an old piece of paper.

First I made the paper template following this tutorial (allowed myself some artistic freedom) http://www.purephotoshop.com/view.php?id=10 then I put the drawing in the bottom and the template in the top layer, set the top layer style to overlay, darkened the drawing an applied a noise modifier with around 3% strength to it and here's the result.

opinions are welcome

Excellent work, Ryuta! I applaud thee from the deepest parts of my person. Being a writer (not that I have ever published one of my books) I am quite interested to see where this thing is going to go. One thing. Are you writing this novel in favor of one of the sides? I like novels better when they leave you to do some thinking about who really was the bad side (not that there is one in this case). Just a question, I love the idea. But 140 pages!?! Unheard of in my book. Then again I don't add illustrations... And we are talking about a graphic novel... A bit of rambling does a body good sometimes  . Anyway, your illustrations remind me of my brother's. He is fresh out of his first year of college in which he took some art classes, but even before then his illustrations were like yours. What a coincidence (if that's how you spell it). Anyway, good work. Please post your finished work somewhere so that we can enjoy it.

You felt the need to make these two posts separately because...

No, wait, I can't think of any logical reason. Weird, innit? :???:

And Ryuta, glad to hear it's coming along, we're all looking forward to it.

That's really good, Lamoot.

To Genaral_Specific, I try not to make bad side or good side, I think both sides are pretty much same. Though since the story is mostly told along Swadians, they seens a bit bad side. But personally, plotting, tricking etc. is very common in Medieval time (essencial if you ever want to survive) and I don't make it is a bad thing.

I take it you still need names?

At least for the Sea Raiders (they should make an appearance?):

Sigvalde
Dirge Bue
Fermand
Ulf
Rolf
Godfred
Hartheknut
