Thanks for names Ingolifs.

Design for bow holder is just my experiment. Art Nouveou... I like the style of Art Nouveau, though.

Design looks like LOTR is surprising. Maybe because I and they use same original source as the basic. My design is almost directly from historical source so it'd look similar, I think.

LOTR... To be honest, I'm not very fan of the series (and art)... First one's an excelent film, though...

So are the names any good?

It's interesting how names can influence the character traits of the characters that spring from the names. I tried to include some kind of motherly names in there.

If you have any particular characters (or particular character traits for a certain person) in mind, describe them to me, and i'll see if i can come up with a name.

Oh, and if you go to any bookshops soon, be sure to try and find an 'art of lord of the rings' book. Some of the themes, and motifs are very similar to what you're doing. In fact, the horse you did reminded me a large amount of some of the Rohan horse motifs.

Ryuta, as big as you can get them would be great. The bigger they are the easier they are to color.

Lost-Lamb, yeah, that'd be great. I want to play with coloring them though. At least one of them.

There's to be quite a few people in novel. Even though it's true that name often implies their characteristics, I'll keep it open. It's to keep them away from name=characteristic equatation. I dont think many mother want to name her son Wormtongue, for example.

I was to post final version of heraldry but I forgot to bring them. So instead, I'll post watercolour painting. Not so good though.

He's the standard bearer of Vaegil Royal Guards. Hope I could show him in novel...

that's one fearsome fella tough I don't like the gold, I associate the gold colour with Cataprachts

blue with the french lilly on it would be great looking

EDIT: I took a closer look, and just realized that that IS a Catapracht (his helmetstyle, armour and mace should have made me notice sooner  )

I put yellow (not gold, but it's my lack of skills) because medieval people prefered bright colours. I could paint faceguard of the horse yellow but I forgot to do so.

So, Temujin, do you have any suggenstion for names?

female names: Freya, Brunhild, kriemhild,

male names: Constantine, Roland, frederick, Temujin , Timur, Mehmed, Sukarno (not a great warrior/general but he did declare independence)

(all based on great generals or characters from epics, I'm not verry original)

I love the Vaegir cataphract. If they looked like that in-game, I might be tempted to switch sides.

The artwork looks terrific, and the story is shaping up nicely. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

If you need any inspiration for M&B style storylines, check out the old Conan novels by Robert E. Howard and L Sprague de Camp. Pulp sword&sorcery (with plenty of sword) at its finest.

Quite stunning work...

For names: maybe something like, Wiscoja (latest character  ), Dhar, Mugdar, Fubar  , Dwis, etc.

These could be used as a basis, some tweaking would make them better perhaps...

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for names everyone.

I'm not really fond of watercolour one. (better one is this!)

This is banner of the King.

company standard of Royal Guard.

Great standard of Swadis Kingdom.

Banner of Princess Julia (Iulia? I prefer this one).

This is how it appears on the shields of guards.

P.S. If you'd llike see Japanese armours, check at Daimyo War thread in Mod discussion forum. (how to put a link, by the way?)

Veeeery good. Th banners are pretty damn awesome...but I don't understand the dolphin.

Awesome stuff. Keep up the good work. By the way though, it's just my opinion, but I would seriously advise to change the name of the princess. Julia just sounds too modern and i.m.o isn't a name fitting for a princess. Just my 2 cents

If that's the case, then you just change the spelling to vaguely alter pronunciation, to avoid it sounding too modern. To exoticize "Julia", I suggest Iulea.

I have used http://rinkworks.com/namegen/ to great effect in the past. The advanced generator is quite powerful. You can input certain prompts in order to shape the name to a suitable template. For example, you might want more vowel clusters in the name of a female heroine, and perhaps more harsh consonants in the name of a villain.

Ok, The princess is Iulea.

Dolphine thing (It's actually a sea reptile) is my better watercolour painting and no connection to novel.

I cannot post any graphics today because I forgot to bring them to library. though I posted some Samurai photos in Daimyo War thread in Mod Discussion.

By the way, Temjin, is Tanaka Rena popular in your country? She looks grown up.
