M&B Graphic Novel

I think the Vaegirs are pretty good. Not exactly as I pictured them but good anyway. I don't know about them being Turkish. I didn't really think about it but thought they'd be sort of east/central European, hungarian, polish, baltic or russian. There is some overlap.

I think the Swadians are a mix of French and German probably. Again you probably can't classify exactly.

Ryuta, absolutely incredible artwork! I truly wish I had the talent!

My advice to you, given what Armagen said, is to come up with your own storyline and run with it. Perhaps accept input from the community, but I think if you run everything past everyone, you will end up spending more time chasing opinions that drawing pictures.

I'm pretty sure everyone will really enjoy your work, whatever it is, as long as it ties in with the game somehow.

Looking forward to seeing more!!

Thank you everyone, especially Guryon's kind advice.

This time, I'm not posting drawings about the novel. But instead, what the final novel would look like.

These pics are from my previous novels. Yes, I'm not going to colour it, because that'll take too long and the file became too large.

First two are from unfinished novel set in Japan 970. I tried as historically accurate as possible.

This is small drawing (10cm high?) but took 6hours in total. Why Japanese armour has so many small bits?

They are samples of layout. they're from different part of story and includes only one combat scene in the whole story (a guy cutting off a demon's arm).

This is FINISHED work. Titled 'the Candlestick of Nefertina'. It's her.

That's the sample pages.

As regard to the story, There is the political story I've made.

The things begin when Swadian symphasizers wins massively in election (usually their power is more or less balanced). As Vaegir symphasizers looking with concern, Swadian party started to change the systems of Zendar to benefit Swadian party (mainly tax, laws and Swadian military advisers).

Lord Arrasies wasn't happy about the situation and looking suspiciously at Swadian ambassader (an idiot who was send to make disturbance by King) and Swadis's intention. His suspicion was deepend by the fact that even months after the Eastern war (I made it. It was a small war fought in the eastern border of Swadis) was concluded, Swadis kept stockpiling provisions for war. His and constable Hareck's effort to keep city in peace was shattered when Vaegir symphasizers revolted against Swardian party (by unfair taxing etc. + nasty incident). The death of Swadian ambassader gave Swadis an excuse to invade Zendar 'to save Swadis symphasizer from mobs.' An army, waited long in the eastern border moved at once. Intent on seizing Zendar before Vaegir can react.

On swadis side, however, things are not always clear. The comander of army, a princess (I haven't decided her name yet), is hugely popular and threat to Swadian throne (she's from different bloodlines from the King and other princes). The King's plan was, after taking Zendar and defeated Vaegir army, she'll be assassinate by 'a Vaegir assassin'. He could then use the dead princess as an icon to boost the moral for eventual defeat of Vaegir.

She knew all of it. So, instead of taking Zendar, she choose it to be a free, neutral town (in favour of Swadis) and managed to degenerate the war into series of skermish. Using the situation wisely, she could elinimate her enemies and take the throne of Swadis.

It was also what Zendar wanted. As long as there's no winner, Zendar is safe...

Ok, I'll do it all over again.

This is from unfinished novel.

This is sample pages.

This is from another finished work.

This is sample pages.

It's strange, I can see it... Maybe something's messed up.

And they're heraldic signs. I did not go for ordinary coat of arms design because it's too Europe (I mean, it looks too 'cut and paste' culture). Heraldic rules are still not fully developed in this world.

I made Swadian art being representative and Vaegir being more abstruct. But Vaegir art gave some influence in Swadian art.

Here's the design.

Top 2 dispropotioned lions are for Swadian. it's based on von Brienze family shield. below them are horses for Vaegir. bottom one is for banner.

Another ones.

Eagle and dragon. could be someone's emblem.

This is von Brienze shield, from 'Norman Knight' Osprey History.

Made in late 12th century and top curve cut off in mid 13th. 1.5cm thick wood core covered by parchment. device was silver lion on blue.

And I wrote about a princess yesterday. This is her sketch.

I don't have her name... Give her name!

I really really like the top right lion you did, uppermost sketch. Would you mind if I stole... er... borrowed that and made a sig with it? That would look great on a shield in-game as well.

Of course!

It's a great honour to be used in game sir!

And I'm releaved you could see it!

Well, I can't put it in game, I stink at texture editing. But maybe one of our artists will stick it on a shield

::edit:: as a name for the princess, I'd suggest Julia, if that'd fit the world. That's my sisters name and she looks a lot like your princess.

Here's more heraldry designs.

Middle ones in the second thumbnail are new version of Zendar arms.
bottom one is flamingo. I was bored...

To Nairagorn. Julia is a good name but it'd be better if her name's a bit more M&B-ish? Like Iulia (it's Latin)?

Ryuta, if you could scan larger versions of the heraldry designs you made I could probably put them on shields for the next version of HugeMod.

Thanks n00854180t. You're very generous. How large it should be? If you tell me which one you llike to put, I'll scan accordingly.

Here's an old sketch for a main character.

She's a light cavalry. well, light means 'light duty'. She's as well armoured as heavy cavalry. I put bow case upside down...

Now, I want to you all to come up to names for characters. rules for naming are:

1. Don't get angry if I killed the character.
2. Don't get angry if yours wasn't chosen.
3. I've already decided hero and heroine (just 2), just not to make some jealous.
4. Make name less un-Engllish like. Just change a bit so it's a bit unusual for English speakers.

I think that's it. Have a good weekend!

The design on the bow holder... looks art nouveau (sp?). Some of your other stuff looks reminiscent with the artwork found throughout LOTR.

Coming up with names? I'm good at that. Here are a couple.

My beserker character's name is Grael mar Bhanwedh

Perhaps a couple of others?

Hyellegrald
Hegrothosque
Matar
Chellsyne
Erenor
Maldet
Dhemnar
Gilberdhe
Tolnnare
Llosgythe
Aldethe
Aeglir
Munneso

Cormedhil

All of these i just thought up now. Feel free to mix and match.
