M&B doesnt run anymore

ive installed the game and it run perfectly
i played it for some 3 days... now i run M&B and select PLAY, and it just makes a whitescreen on which it stays for some 10minutes.. didnt have enoough patience to wait some hours...
i havent changed any installations...
no idea why it doest run!!
and i dont want to reinstall sicne i dont wanna lose all my savesss!!

oooh... i got it
for some reason i HAVE to put my mouse on the little white box it opens at the beginning on the left-upper corner.. so it shows D3D on mouse..
if i dont do that it doesnt run..
