Lucon's Longevity

So, it was about 12 years into my current post release game when Lucon died of old age. I remember that in the older versions when birth and death were first available as an option, Lucon would often die pretty quickly into the game when the option was selected. I guess I'm writing this to say that I am pleased that this was changed...Lucon being longer lived and making it as long as he did in my current game seems about right. Any other thoughts on the longevity of Lucon and other members of the starting cast in the post release era?

It is random.
I think Neretze's Folly related NPC deaths should be delayed during the campaign until day ~100 or so. So you can talk to them before this happens -

This is Lucon rando dying before the end of day 2 of my campaign.

It's completely random? Cool...that is more interesting, means that every play through is even more unique.

I'm not a fan of how long anyone lives (regularly over 100), but that is probably personal preference. I have a mod with max age set at 84, since I know John VI Kantakuzenos died at 90-91 years of age, but 90 seems a bit too frail to be at the front leading an army. Somewhere in the 70s-80s seems reasonable (with a chance of death anytime after 25 depending on your clan's highest Medicine skill), although I'd also prefer if they upped death rates from other things as well. I don't see nearly enough named NPCs die in battles they should, nor executions from Sadistic/Cruel Lords and Ladies, nor enough women dying in childbirth, nor stillborns. Again, personal preference, but I prefer a flair of drama in my games haha. Birth and death enabled doesn't feel near as impactful as I would personally like it to be, but others probably would really hate the rate of death in the modded games I play, so I hope one day you can either tweak it in the Options or Difficulty levels. Bring on the tragedy!
