Hey all,

I had a look through the search function but couldn't find any previous thread about this, apologies if there already is one.

Basically, I had a look at retirement just to see what it said and it said i had a luck of around 140.

What is this 'luck' and how does it affect game play?

Cheers all

Akimba

I think it tells you approximetly how lucky your charcter was in life and how well he performed but i dont really know

Basically the older you get the less luck you have left. When your luck is low there is a chance to actually die (permanently) in battle.
At least it was like this in the original M&B.

Well, not to die?
It also is the only way to end the game (at least that i know of)
Also you will get some statistics to look at, like how many people you`ved killed and such.

I don't live forever!?!
Warband, your depth never ceases to amaze me

Dying in battle sounds pretty cool, I think I have a new ambition =p

whaaat? you can permanantly die!?

I thought there only was a chance of stat loss if you get knocked out in a battle after game day 700-something?

Yeah, it's baloney. All it does is give a chance of losing a random stat point permanently. Which is completely lame and retarded. Fortunately there's a tweak.

Also, there is another way to end the game. It's called the Exit button.

My favorite is ALT-F4. Even better is that Ctrl-Alt-F4 is the mass-KO cheat, so if you fudge that you'll just close the game.

I'm going to sneak in here and return this topic from its 182 days of resting

I was just wondering if anything you do in game has an effect on retirement and what the retirements you can get are?

Just about everything you do has an effect my friend

difficulty, how many villages/towns like/hate you, how many places you control, etc

Not sure on what all the retirements are... I can only seem to remember two of them... mind you I don't remember them exactly.

One was something about having just enough gold to buy a plot of land or something to that effect, and I spend my days in the tavern getting drunk and telling stories of my adventures.

The other, and the one I get when I conquer all or almost all of Caladria just gives me a bunch of babble about how I will forever be known as "Lord of [insert town/castle here]" or Count or something I forget exactly what it says.

Or being the semi-successful leader of a faction, yes. I am the King of Unified Calradia and was assigned the Lord of a village (despite holding Dhirim and its 5 attached fiefs). I've since given up on playing fair and have been taking advantage of Swadian Knights on a regular basis. Maybe, one day, Calradia will be unified under my banner.

1. I'm some beggar with no life.
2. I'm a drunk with stories no-one believes.
3. I'm a simple farmer with a decent life.
4. I own a successful inn and tell stories which people love hearing and believe.
5. I'm a minor lord with a village who goes on small and brief campaigns with his king.

I don't know the rest.

Edit:+50 points for first post on page 2!

what's with you and your +50 pts? What are you gonna do with those points? Eat them?

Entertain himself, most likely.

At any rate, I've been spending my money quite faster than I thought according to the retire menu.

The character which I progressed the most got an hereditary title of Ahmmerad, ruling vast fiefs and fortune. It said I become the main adviser of the liege, almost his equal.  One of the most powerful figure in Calradia.

I better be his bloody equal!  I was the one running the show and owning a third of the map when I retired and gave him my job!

Confirmed. There's a lower rank where you get a hereditary title but I don't think you are named top advisor.

EDIT: Ranks are for every 1000 final points.
