Low troop limit?

Over on the paradox board people with like 9 charisma, 3 leadership, less renown have 100+ troop limit- my guy has 12 char, 4 leadership, 100+ renown- 88 or so troop limit- what's up?

Renown is what really gets your troop limit up. CHA and Leadership are a waste, in my opinion.
Just keep winning.

One of them was on day FIVE, you dont get over 100 renown on day 5- so there's something up- I doubt they were messing with me.

It actually is possible. IF they are a great gunner/player and there was a plenty of bandits near there spawn point then they could've been fighting more then well...how long it took them to move. But that would be indeed a drastic spawn of outlaw/bandits.

Yeah I suppose, but the % are against both of them having higher skills/renown I think. And even being a good gunner it's hard to fight a bunch of guys with guns unless you're also insanely lucky.  But yeah...possible.  But I doubt it

u should check the base troop number, i believe if u play on lower difficulty this number will be much higher

Yeah, DIFFICULTY, I didnt think about that- thanks!!

Also- Yes, bombs rock...though a bit easy to exploit since you can ride back to your chest...but still by yourself one or two shots and your dead so still hard, the AI can shoot pretty decently sometimes.

EDIT- In fact, even with my awesome super swede cavalry, I still run forward and throw bombs at the enemy until they're about 200 feet out.

Heh, I try to be as less gamey as possible, I ride forward and keep my troops behind me to add supporting fire in a long line and order them to charge if my horse goes down.  ....I do wish I could buy like a pack with 3/3 large bombs though.  I am maxing throwing skill, mmm.

@Silencer how many days have you played though?

@Snall also fighting for/with lords it can also help you out on massive renown gain. On the second hand i think using rock as defensive obstecle is very realistic heh

Yea im not worried anymore, 99% sure it's difficulty level settings.

I've been playing on hard all the time.
I managed to get enough renown to have 75 people in my army.
Then one day i loaded up my save and could have 140!

I certainly didn't mind because Warsaw was impossible to take without any lords following me.

But it does lead me to believe the partysize on hard is a bug. Why else could it suddenly chance to normal proportions.
You get the same size on easy and normal, why not on hard too?

Upgrade your companions leadership, it allows you to have a large troop limit.

So Leadership works similar to training (i.e. every companion adds troops to the max troop size according to his/her leadership level)?
Well, this explains then, why my max troops size suddenly went lower, when Victor de la Buscador (who had high leadership) left my party.

Upgrade your companions leadership, it allows you to have a large troop limit.

It won't stack though. They'd have to have more leadership than you in order for them to add to yours.

I never get any charisma, other than the amount I start off with, it's a waste, so usually i only go for str or agi ONLY, while other team gets int, but never charisma.... just get very expensive and strong troops but only about 40-70 of them and attack larger parties
