How much men, 1000? also 256 is quite high in the sound department, turn that down to 128 or 64, since the sound system is working abnormally for now. Also if you haven't try 1.2.0

Yup, I agree. This game is more CPU intensive than GPU, especially when comes to maximum number of troops(men). Basically, each men encompass at least 1 set CPU threads to manage/run. This applies for men that are either visible or not visible on screen.
As for GPU, it is basically managing the switching/refreshing speed of each individual pixels on the screen.

Sorry for your inconvenience. The game is probably bounded by the CPU in your setup, that is the reason for the low GPU usage and FPS. The optimization efforts are ongoing, with every patch the game's CPU performance will be better and the big battles FPS will be higher. Thanks for your feedback.
