Love is real for some people at least and it isn't always just infatuation but that Foreigner song is an abomination unto the Lord. Please somebody show him what love is before I hang myself! That's what I was thinking when I heard that song almost every day back when it was new, I believe that song is ninety minutes long no matter what anyone says. How could the same group that made Dirty White Boy be responsible for that whiny weirdness I wondered. Were ancient aliens messing with our space time continuum?

You get over it. Then you realise that the songs are all silly, idealist lies. There is no such thing as "the one", unless you're talking about The One Ring. There are plenty of people you can love and be happy with, it's just a matter of finding them, as they might be far away from you.
Some people are willing to buy into believing silly song lyrics about how love is everything, and if you've not got love then you've not got anything worth having, and you're nothing without somebody to love, but such people tend to be sad, lonely individuals who tend to flit from one ended relationship straight on to another because they can't bear the thought of being 'alone', and they need somebody to make them feel loved and wanted and appreciated. Similarly, people who follow their partners around like lost puppies and won't do anything without their 'SO' are also irksome. It's like they don't have a life of their own and need to live through other people. Very sad.
Love can enrich your life, but it's not the end-all. What most people think of as true love is usually a cocktail of hormones, pheromones and physical attraction/lust. It usually wears off after a few years. Real love comes from knowing a person thoroughly, realising their flaws and accepting them as they are, instead of blindly idolising them. It comes from years of intimacy and involves respect and friendship as well as sex. That's why most people who are OMG SO IN LOVE are just fooling themselves; they haven't had enough time in for their love to be proven.

The songs aren't all lies Llandy, yeesh. Songwriters aren't lying criminals like political candidates are they are only expressing how they feel at the time. When the Beatles sang that love song about the yellow submarine I'm sure they really did love that submarine and were not lying about it. Ringo Starr really did want to be under the sea in an octopus's garden in the shade.
I agree wholeheartedly that being alone is not bad and you can be happy that way, having a lot of time for introspection and doing solo activities that you wouldn't have time for if you were with someone all the time is good, things like reading books and watching gory movies that women don't normally like and wild boar hunting with a genuine replica boar spear. I won't do the solo boar hunt, it was a bad idea.

Hahaha, but it was so crazy. Also I meant to recommend N.I.B. from the original Black Sabbath record rather then the Lord of this World song from their Jesus loving Master of Reality album. And one more edit for Togakure, with flutes and glockenspiels and no singing I guess the I wanna know what love song is almost bearable.
It has been statistically proven that criminals that fall in "love" are highly likely to become a better part of society again. Infact the number one reason criminals have become rehabilitaded is because of "love".
Whenever I look at my parents I notice that they don't always love each other, but they most certainly don't hate each other. They have gone through plenty of hardships together, whether it be between them. Economical or political. But then again, the only reason they married each other was because of the "social laws" of chile. Leaving a pregnant dame to her own doing is one of the worst taboo in Chilean society. So ofc my father married my mother after getting her pregnant.
They have both told me, that they hated each other at first. Couldn't stand the fact of being with each other for the rest of their lives. They had so many different opinions and different livestyles.
But, I don't know when, how or even why. But somewhere along the road they actually fell in love with each other, mot chilean who moved to sweden broke up with their partner as soon as they had enough money to pay for the divorce lawyers and papers. It really warms my insides to see my parents taking walks together, and as I look at them walking away from the balcony. Holding hands and merrily kiss each other while talking to the neighbours.

Really depends on what you define as love. I mean I love life, and I'd certainly die if that left me. Similarly there are things which make life worth living, such as music, the loss of which would certainly require some hard thinking with regards to continuing on.
When it comes to other apes on the other hand then no. As a rational human being I'm aware that any feelings of bonding are merely the result of oxytocin and vasopressin bonding to my brain receptors, in a similar way as alcohol or crack, and thus recognise it for the intoxication it is.

See, I'm thinking that rational, posed humans can very well accept feelings of loves for another while being aware of exactly what are causing them. You also seem to forget that you can very much love someone for entirely cerebral reasons. I love my woman because we share the same sense of humour, the same hobbies and all that ****, and I'm just lucky enough for my brain to love her too.
