First off, I just DL'd the mod yesterday and played it till 530 in the morning (and had work at 9), so obviously I loved it. Prior to this I had thought POP was the best mod, but you guys have way more features and quests, and I am also a fan of history period (dark ages in early Briton).
My only complaint would be about the honor system. I think it is a little too strict. Especially for the Pagan players (like me). It is a fact that the Druids sacrificed prisoners from battles, and all religions at that time had slaves. Yet if I put prisoners to work in mines I get negative honor? This seems to me more like something from a later era.
It seems like this mod gives you the option to play a warlord, almost a viking, but yet it makes it too painful to do so by basically making everyone hate you. I would think if I was playing as a pagan and out looting and burning christian villages that at the very least the Pagans would not view that as dishonorable.
Similar issues come up when you get a prompt saying your men have raped a woman, or impregnated someone. I always give the answer to pay her or whatever because I know if I do not I would lose honor. But in those days, even during the middle ages when everyone was christian, no one would have cared. At least in the nobility. To nobility the peasants were nothing, and during times of war (even during peacetime) nobility regularly raped and murdered peasants with no thought of dishonor.
The other thing I noticed is that the reward for pillaging and looting doesnt seem to be enough. I captured a town after killing 450 men of its garrison, and losing 100 of mine in the process, but the loot and pillage option would have only given me 1500 shillings. And that happens to be the same cost as buying some whores for my men? Does anyone else sense a bit of imbalance in the rewards / costs? Looting and burning an entire town (not a village) should give quite a bit more than 1500, at least 10,000 IMO. Otherwise whores must be the wealthiest people in the world at that time.
Anyway that is just my 2 cents, and I still love the mod.
thanks for all your work.
