Maedhros
Sergeant

First of all, I'd like to thank in advance everyone that manages to get the time to read this!
Secondly, I'd just like to say that everything here are only IDEAS, and some of them might not be very good, or very developped, but from the moment it helps other people get BETTER ideas... well, my job is done
This is a particular game, mainly because it focuses on realism... but there are still some aspects of the game that are still too "raw"...
As Grigor Keoghl from the M&B unofficial file repository mentioned, sometimes the game gets a bit "static", a bit "boring"... so why not give the game a LARGE and stable storyline?
* GENERAL
-Remove or reduce load times... even if you have to make the game start with a-one-big-whole-full-complete-total
load time - I'd prefer it because the game would be uninterrupted
-Be able to be Evil or Good (I know it sounds really typical and vulgar but... vulgar is not always bad
)
-Create more factions, more nationalities
-Factions can change their attitude towards you: It'd be funny to have Dark Knights as allies
-Establish and define the TYPES of equipement. Armors and weapons, mainly
-A new type of equipments... ornaments? Like rings that give bonuses to stats or skills
(a bit magical I know, but it always looks good)
* GAME MAP
-Caravans (in-game) actually deliver stocks of weapons/armors/goods to merchants in the town. So when a
caravan arrives to a town the NPC will say: "Oh yes, we have a new stock, my dear sir." or something similar
-Establish main roads and smaller road to towns and cities, where you travel faster because the soil is
different, and where you have less chances for being attacked by enemies (for example)
-Change the way a player travels: instead of making little men and little riders going around, make it
more similar to the way you move in battles and towns: more details, more graphic smootheness, and less
"square": it's too limited...
* CITIES
-Increase their size, and the number of accessible houses. Also try putting some people walking around.
Everyone is always standing in one spot
-Put some more random people in them! They look so abandoned and.. lonely... *sniff*
-Don't have those load times inside town, create openeable (or openable :S) doors that allow you to move freely around town
-Castle: make it a real castle... not only a room where the castle's master is.. otherwise it's a bit boring ^^
-Taverns: They need a tavern-like environment.. they are too empty, and too silent!
-Merchants: nothing here so far...
-Inn: Put some rooms in it, together with some costumers and people working there.
* QUESTS
-More of them! I think that is a MUST HAVE in the game! A very LARGE must. ^^
-Have main story quests, main character improvements quests (for classes for example), and then the small but always fun and useful sidequests!
-Make quests appear when you complete a specific task, or reach a certain level
* NPCs
-Dialogues: make them vary! make them say random stuff from a compilation of different sentences (depending on who the NPC is obviously - merchant, weapon trader, etc.)
-Heroes: let them have a life, a story behind them
-Make some appear only during the night, or only during the day, or move around some towns.
Some quests can be based on finding an NPC, or if not, have other fixed NPCs giving you indication on where they might be.
-A NPC friend system: IF you improve your relationship with an NPC, you indirectly improve yours with
that NPC's "friends". New quests could come from this system: "hey go talk to Mr. X, he might have a job for you!"
-More heroes! Someone suggested having enemy heroes, I'm sorry for not remembering his/her name, but cheers mate!
* SKILLS
-A JOB! we need a job xD
I'm serious... skilled blacksmith, an agile hunter, a battle hardened mercenary, city guard, King's knight, Commander of a band of outlaws... Be paid in some, and get your own pay in other (raids, caravan robbing)!
-Classes: with classes, there would be another aim in the game other than quests, and a player would be able to get certain attribute benefits. Make lots of them, too
(not too many thought, it can become confusing)
-Real life skills, such as: (very incomplete)
-hunting;
form small hunting parties from your main party, and start a battle against an animal,
where you have to find it, the chase it, then shoot or stab it down.
-skinning;
you can either sell the skins or make clothing from it, for example.
-tanning and making clothes/armor;
from the animal's skins
-lighting fires;
for cooking
-cooking;
either buy raw meat/fish or hunt/fish it for it: then cook
-bargaining;
(related to the charisma attribute)
-tree-cutting:
-different types of trees, and different applications (from firewood to building)
-mining/smelting/blacksmithing:
-different ores, combinations of smelts and different blacksmithing areas
-building:
...a recurrent topic I know, but just to put it on the list. Owning a house/castle/palace should be fun ^^
* ARENA
-Have other arenas besides the one in Zendar, each with different combat types (depending on the region and all (different standard armors, and weapons)
-A ranking system with a semi-final/quarter-final/final tournament every once in a while
-Prizes other than money - items/horses etc
-Hero fights: You pick some heroes from your party to fight an AI hero party, and compete for a prize
-Diversify the competitions: you could have horse racing or horse obstacles courses... but make horses jump higher
-I don't mean to offend the game makers' creativity, but the unofficial M&B repository has some nice arena mods
* BATTLES
-More party commands
-Enable fights with more than two factions (and for example, form temporary alliances with a party for the duration of one of these battles)
-More strategic battles, but still with it's fair share of action!
OK...
This is what I got so far! I'll make some changes later on, when I have the time.
Thanks again for reading this (if you didnt fall asleep in the middle and got to this point
)
P.S.: Some people suggested magic, and I'd love it too, but... wheres there isn't really much realism in that...
