Lot of fights instead of 1 big fight

Hi,

is there a reason for that 2 examples which happens a lot to me:

I have 130 soldiers and fight vs 28 enemies but i still lose! why? Because i get no reinforcement like the enemies do ( i got 40 battlesize) and so they beat like 20 of my soldiers and the other 110 are hidden or something and dont show up in this fight...

Second example:

I fight 20 vs 40 and win the fight and after this fight i have to fight AGAIN but now 17 vs 32??? Why? I just beat up 40 of them and just right after that i have to fight again and again and they just lose like 10 soldiers although i beat up 40 everytime?

Why isnt there something like 1 big battle instead of all this small battles in a row? i have the battlesize at 40 so there should be at least 20 enemies less from fight to fight. I tried even a larger battlesize but still even in small battles i need at least 3 battles to win

It's because you have your battlesize on 40.

40 means that there will be 40 people max on the battlefield at any given time. It all depends on your tactics score, as well as your battle advantage (in troop numbers usually), whether or not it's going to be an even fight (20v20) or tipped to one side (25v15 for example).

For your first example. Maybe you don't notice it, but your troops get replenished every so often (reinforcements have arrived).

For your second example. Either you have a weird version of Mount&Blade, or you aren't taking into account the actual amount of troops that the enemy has. It could be that you just engaged without looking at the troop count (maybe 78?) of your enemy.

but if my and there troops get replenished and i have 120 and they just 28 why suddenly the reinforcement stopped? it stopped definatly because i run like a chicken around my inventorybox for minutes and nothing happend

even if the battlesize is at 40 shouldnt it be like that--> 20vs20 for example and if my whole squad is dead i get another 20 etc.  ?
Its just about 20 Minutes ago that i won with like 20 vs 40 and still got after that fight right another fight vs the same enemies but now it was like 17 vs 32.

I need in every fight at least 2-3 wins in a row to win a fight

I think it is 3 reinforcement waves for a defender and 2 for an attacker on a field battle. I could be wrong.

try using this:

set up your number of units higher

If you have very low tactics skill (or nobody in your party has a decent tactics skill level) you will pretty much always be outnumbered on the battlefield.  Tactics determines what the ratio for your troops vs theirs will be at a start of a battle.  So if you have 0 tactics, and you go up against a lord with 5 tactics, they'll have a helluva lot more troops at the beginning of the battle, and your troops will get massacred.

Up you tactics skill and see if that makes a difference.  Oh, and put the battlesize higher than 40 lol.  Unless you're running a 10 year old rig, you should at least be able to handle 100.

First of all, computer vs battlesize: Lower your graphics and increase your battlesize.

Second. The strength of your men also count. If you have an army of 100 recruits vs 20 swadian knights, you'll loose.

Third. Each combatant get 3 reinforcement waves as long as they have enough troops in reserve.

If you have battlesize at 40 and you fight 100 vs 100 it means that your enemy will field 20 troops (if you and the lord have the same tactic skill), when around 10 enemies are dead they will bring in 10 more, then 10, then 10. In the end you have killed around 50 enemy soldiers (20 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 50).

Then you have to fight another battle. This time you have the advantage (since you have more men left then the enemy, lets say you have 80 men left, and the enemy have 50 men left) so the enemy will field less troops then you, this means that he will get less reinforcements. So lets say the enemy can field 18 of his 50 troops. So, 9 dies and get replaced, then the 9 gets replaced again, then once more, so 45 enemies have been killed (18 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 45).

This means that the enemy have 5 troops left for the final battle.

My tip is: Increase your battlesize, and make sure you have good troops.
