And defending the villages!Shouldn't governors be dealing with this sort of stuff. Isn't it their whole purpose, manage the settlements and their subjects.

If they're going to stick with this system, then they really ought to make it easier for companions to do the quests for us.
For one thing, they should shorten the amount of time they take. There's no reason it should take my companion 20 days to move some cattle to a nearby town when they only give the player 4 days to do it. I thought they were in a hurry.
And they should make the skill requirements much lower. I've seen quests that demand 140 Leadership and Tactics.. They'll let an unknown player character riding a sumpter horse and dressed in bandit rags do the job, but if its a companion, suddenly he has to be Napoleon? The requirements should be more like 10 or 20 tops.
What is a "governor"? Head over to "suggestions" and maybe they will add these to the game. Would be neat.Shouldn't governors be dealing with this sort of stuff. Isn't it their whole purpose, manage the settlements and their subjects.
What is a "perk"? Is that one of those features that hasn't been implemented in their 18 skill trees yet? If they get around to implementing any of the ~160-260 perks they haven't implemented I would like to see this one implemented too. Make it #261 on the list.Would be a good steward perk. "governor solves a random quest each day of your town/villages"
It´s a role a companion can do and while he has this role he is just doing nothing at all. What is a "governor"? Head over to "suggestions" and maybe they will add these to the game. Would be neat.

Sound like an improvement over his current role of committing suicide in combat. It´s a role a companion can do and while he has this role he is just doing nothing at all.![]()
I actually don't think it needs "a lot" of work though. If they just clean up a few bugs and do some minor balancing I think even the current iteration of the mechanic will be better than static power. Of course they can put in more work to expand upon and polish it in the long run too, if they want. Introducing bugs when you add things is inevitable, so in my opinion it's better to layer on the mechanics piece by piece to make it easier to find and fix the bugs as you go.Like so many other things in this game, the concept is cool but it "still needs a lot of work".

Yep I get messages about lost notables almost every day in my campaign. It's horrible to come to a village and see 1 notable and have to fight other lords for recruits. It makes absolutely no sense that they can't at least be replaced after a few days to a week. But even if they get that fixed what is the use in building rep with anyone if they're going to die in a year or less? I have to ask myself isn't anyone at TW giving any thought to how game mechanics work and the ramifications of doing something like this.I have spent the last week testing mods and just screwing around in the game. The notables seem to be dropping like flies. One of them was lost immediately after the start of a new game, before I could ride from the training field to Poros. When I hole up in a town and let time pass while I wait, the notables lost messages fall like leaves from a tree. I half expect all of the villages to be empty, with all the persons there being lost over time.
I am still of the opinion that this is a silly mechanic. The logistics of it are unworkable for the player. No one has the time to take than heard to Lageta in the middle of a war for the eleventh time. This is one thing that will be modded out of the game and no one is going to miss it.
