Losing an NPC

I recently let Marnid go from my party with some troops, asking him to stay where he was, and when I returned some days later, he could not be found. I don't have tons of experience dropping an NPC off; is there any advice anyone can give on finding a lost NPC?

Heh, same thing happened to me. They get chased away from their place by enemies. It took me a few hours of running around the map to find my 2 npc's!!! :)

I left all 7 of mine in diferent places, each with 10 sharp shooters

Then i went soloing

Stupid NPC guys have NO tactical skills whatsoever

I left constable hareck at the river pirate spawn point, i was ging to veluca few hours later and he lost 9 of my sharp shooters and was running toward dorak keep. So took him back, recruited a bunch of peasants and turned him loose. still havent seen him at all

Xerina still has 6 of my sharp shooters, i left her at the sea raider spawn point near tihr. Shes taken out 3 groups not really an trouble

Rest of them do okay, Borcha is just plain hopless, he runs, even when he has 32 knights with him, he runs from 28 sea raiders......

I have little faith in them

I had a similar situation. I left Marnid next to a town, and he was immediately driven away by some huge army. He didn't have any men, so he was able to outrun them. Still, I couldn't find him when I wanted him back in the party. I went' looking all over the place, and couldn't find him. I even started looking to see if any enemy force had captured him (doubt it's possible). Then, I went back to where I left him, and there he was. So just keep checking back where you left him, and he'll get back after he outruns the bad guys.

When i want to leave borcha and marnid behind, i go to this secluded spot on the map, about halfway between jelkana and Sargoth. At the edge there's a little mountain meets stream corner where no AI party goes. you can tell you're in it, because the camera no longer follows your party.

Mount&BladeRgl_Config.txt cheat mode = 1

ctrl+t

This is the simplest way to find your missing hero, albeit not necessarily as fun as randomly spotting Borcha racing across Caladria like a rabbit chased by dogs.
