Do you only get one chance to get a lord to join you in serving the other king....i have taken half of the nord empire and they still own join me i have 2 on my side against the 18 the king has. My army cant get beaten but i cant be everywhere at once any thoughts?

Don't know, from my experience some replies lead me to believe I can't ask that Lord again and others left it open for another try.

Only one chance if you already tried to convince them with an argument of some kind.  However, sometimes when you approach a lord, they will dissuade you from starting your argument.  Something along the lines of "let's talk later, when no one else is around."  Not sure what influences this dialog.

When I've encountered this, it has been on the world map, and if I go later and request a meeting with them while they're in a city, I can then make my case.

i tell u one bad thing. just before trying to make them in your side... make sure SAVE the game... if u fail... then quit without saving... and try again...

but i shouldnt have to do that after destroying the Nords total army of 400 with just 85 men and sending 12 lords running home? you would think they would want a change?

You only have one chance to convince them to join you rebellion. But after victory they will all rejoin the newly formed kingdom.

so what i have to take all the citys and they will join me or all the citys + castles befor they join me?

Try building your relations with them before you join a claimant.  This makes it easier to persuade them to join them.  I usually target those lords with castles or towns, build up a relation of 30+ (sometimes 50+ if I'm in the mood) and then join a claimant and rebel.  This makes it a whole lot easier getting people on your side.

Persuasion skill also helps quite a bit.

True, but getting that relation score up means you don't have to invest in persuasion (as much).

naah just take all the castles and towns and they'll join automatically after their kingdom is no more.

wow i quess you have to work fast b.c other wise they will take the one on the other side of the map just to mess with you

In my experience, you get that message some times where there are other enemy lords around.
