Yes this is in development though I've scrapped what I had done already. It was a mess and released minor updates like I did simply was not going to work.
Story
92 years ago, the kingdom of Arethia was at peace. But it was not to continue; in an event not fully understood a young lord rose up and tried to overthrow the king. The army of the king was mobilized into action, weakened from many years in absense of war. The rebellion failed to overthrow the king, the lord was killed on the battlefield but still they managed to form their own small nation. This was a warning for the events to come. The situation became worse, independant rebellions sprung up over the land all conviced that they could claim land and power for themselves. Some believed that their God told them to rise up, some belived the king was a tyrant and some were simply greedy for power. The Arethians could not withstand a large part of their population at war with them and within a year the Arethians were reduced to a shadow of what they once was. Their soldiers beaten down by masses of peasants, the people who remained faithful to the king burnt and massacred.
The next few years were some of the darkest times in history. Crops were burnt and villages and towns were destroyed. The rebellions turned against each other all thinking that they were a just cause and the others were not. People starved but still the armies marched. Eventually the war stopped, but only because the people could not physically fight any more. The people had a chance to rebuild themselves again. From the origional rebellion many factions were created though the war culled them down.
From then on the time was marked only by minor battles and skirmished. But the wars are inevitably starting again. The factions are at each other throats and this time who knows what will happen? Will one of the factions achieve dominance? Will the Arethians rise again and become the power they once were? Or will there be complete annihilation? Meanwhile, from a small village two people come into the world, seeking fame, fortune and adventure...

The map
I'm trying to make a map for the mod. I want it to be large and despite being within the limits of the game, the game turns itself off. There's no error message that comes with it and so I have no clue why it is doing it. It can't be to do with the size and I can copy and paste the map from Maw's Murder mod into v0.800 and it works. There are no other problems I can think of so until I work out why the map will have to be just like Native's.
Towns and Cities
I'm hoping to have a lot of changed made in the towns. At the moment they are simply resupply areas that all have the exact same services. I'm hoping to made the towns different from each other in both size and services.
I have the following ideas for town services:
- Armor and Weapon Merchants
Self explanatory though I'm hoping to make them levelled. (Level 1 Armor Merchant = Clothes and Leather Armour, Level 2 Armor Merchant = Chainmail and the top leather armors and so on).
- Goods Merchant
Also self explanatory
- Horse Merchant
These will be made separate from the goods merchants.
- Taverns and Inns
Rest here (Obviously) and hire tier-1 and tier-2 troops. There will also be a slight chance of tier-3 and tier-4 troops being availible.
- Arena
No explanation here though different arenas will have different matches.
- Blacksmith
Have weapons and armor specially made (Though it will cost more) and also have them improved.
- Merchants Guild
Get Merchant Quests from here, store money and goods etc
- Mercenaries Guild
Get randomised quests, store troops, possibly a few small scripted storylines for some of them and hire a wide variety of troops.
- Prison/Dungeon
'Sell' prisoners here depending on town faction. E.g. You can only 'sell' bandit prisoners at a neutral town with a prison/dungeon. More money is paid depending on the exact troop types.
- Slave Trader
Sell all prisoners here for a set amount, not as good as going to a Prison/Dungeon.
There towns and cities will also be of varying size:
Village: (This may be removed)
- 1 District
- 1 - 2 Services (Usually the most basic ones)
Small Town:
- 1 - 2 Districts
- 3 - 4 Services
Large Town:
- 2 - 3 Districts
- 4 - 5 Services
Small City:
- 3 - 5 Districts
- 5 - 7 Services
Large City (Or Capital City)
- 5 - 7 Districts
- 6 - 10 Services
As you can see the towns will have "Districts". Obviously every place will have at least one. They'll be areas like the docks, the marketplace, the slums or the lords keep and grounds. Travelling between them will be done through either a menu or passages. When travelling between the districts there are two chances (Leaving one district and entering the other) that the player will be attacked. The chance of this will depend on the type of district it is. (E.g. You are more likely to attacked when leaving or entering the slums as the law has less control there).
I don't know whether these things will be possible just yet but if you denfinatly know something can or can't be done then please tell me. Also if you have any suggestions for these then tell me and I'll add them if they're good.
Time Scale
Another thing I'd like to change to the scale of time. Currently it only takes around 15-30 in game days in order to go from having nothing to have the top armour, a good horse and a proper army.
Ideas I have to make the time scale longer:
- Have some time pass at the end of each battle (I haven't decided on the exact amount but it will be something like 1 hour per minute in battle).
- Force the player to rest (Is it possible to slow the party down more and more until the player decides to rest?).
- Make services only open at certain times (In the previous versions, why was the Zendar Arena open all day and night?).
- Make it take longer for the player to travel from place to place. (With the new module controls, I can make all the parties move slower though time passes slower aswell making it pointless)
