Lords not joining my faction

Ive got about 100 honour the last i checked, had a kingdom wich encompassed all of Sarranids and 3/4 of Nord land(dont ask me how). The Sarranids got destroyed by me, and everytime i captured a lord i released him, wich gained me TONS of honour and ALOT of relation+ with every lord. My friends list goes on about 30-40 different lords, yet only Aelric from the nords has joined me out of his own will, the other 4 lords i had to do myself and others with wich i had about 50-60 relation refused.

Anyone know what is the best way to have Lords voluntarily join you? im quite sick chasing a ''friend'' across the map only to have him refuse me.

Have you used the tweak to remove relation penalties for assigning fiefs ? If so, that change also affects the computer kings - everyone of their lords will love the king and not join you.

In any case, first use your companions to scout the remaining kingdoms. They will then report to you the relationships every lord in that kingdom has with their liege. Go after those who love you but hate their king.

You might want to up your persuasion skill too and be sure to use the correct reason ( land, nobility rights, etc) for the lord.

thanks for the answer, i had indeed disabled the relation hit, as it was another one of the things that made it impossible to have a kingdom. Ill just have it on low.

You removed human greed and self-interest from lords so you wouldn't have to put up with their betryal and suddenly no one wants to betray their king to join you and you're annoyed. Lol.

That's good to know, i was thinking about tweaking this in my game, but now I won't. I'm assuming if the relation hit is only slightly decreased, it will be the best of both worlds.

Theo thats bull**** and you know it. The feature is way too overdone. As are alot of other things in the game such as morale. And maybe i didnt tell this, but there is ALOT of switching factions going on, just 1 in 20 maybe to me. I see those kind of posts alot on this forum, and most of the time they are just plain old bull****.

Sense of humour much?

When a faction is destroyed, how do you track down the lords from that faction and recruit them?

They simply split up on the existing factors on several factors I don't know, but I assume the relationship you have with them plays a role.

What I feel the devs need to take into account is how beat down some lords are.  I suppose I just feeling bad for the AI, but I've been getting massive amounts of Khergits standing around in my hall with the occasional Rhodock and even one Sarranid.  The reason I've been getting so many Khergits is because they only have 1 town left.  The Vaegir and Sarranids attacked them simultaneously.  At the time the Sarranids had just beaten the snot out of the Rhodocks and were feeling their oats I guess.  Either way, they now seem to hold a 1/4 of the map.

At any rate, what's the Khan supposed to do?  He spits in the wrong direction and he's toast.  Now I've got these yutzes hanging around my hall and can I trust them?  I only took Asugan and Tirida because they are in-laws.  I'm starting to fear for my wife with all these landless, bored noble males in the hall.

Sense of humour? the way you posted looked pretty degrading to me, although that might be because text messaging isn't the best way to express sarcasm etc.

oh and BTW, i had ALOT of lords join the Nords who only had Wercheg left, even though i have 6 unassigned castles and alot of villages to give to lords. Ive had 1 lord join me today who was accused of treason by the Nords, But the Nords still have like 15-20 lords with only wercheg and 3 villages, what exactly makes the Lords join a faction?

I wonder if there is a hidden loyalty rating that mitigates alot of the strange relation mechanics?

I was laughing at the situation, not at him personally. =P It was funny. Sometimes people's action just have hilarious unintended consequences.

I wouldn't be surprised. Some lords in my various games seem to switch in my games more than others. Not that's that scientific mind you... Count Clais for example has switched side in most of the games I've played....though I don't know if that's because of personality differences, starting relationship with the king if they differ....or random chance.

Honestly, I think if they just made it cost no relationship if you gave a fief back to its previous owner and made the king favour that option in most cases, that would solve most of the problems for the kingdoms. It seems silly now say that Count Haringoth loses Haringoth castle to the combined might of the Nord army or something....then he doesn't get it back....and even if he does...everyone hates the king for restoring it to him. I mean if I owned a castle, and it was taken, I'd want the king to help me get it back  And I'm pretty sure every other lord would too. To me that's just good kingship.

Yeah, I hear that.  I've thought this a time or two.  You'd think since it was named after him and he owned it for such a long time there would some thing of an ancestral lands thing, or inherited property.  I just don't get some things.  Then there's the fact that some lords are even big enough to protect what they own let alone another castle or village not even close them.
