Like my other suggestion the heroes abilities and gear I suggest to change lords and npc-s equipments and abilities.
This would take much more work compared to the previous one thus I didn't make it in details. (I don't want to sacrifice so much gaming hours.) However some style elements can be implemented spending only some hours. And these don't need programming.
-The first problem is some lords are underequipped compared to their knights, mameluks or huscarls. The full revision takes time but changing some key equipment is quick. In my game I concentrated on horses and helmets because the changes are easy to realize. I gave Swadiands at least a hunter and more armored horses. Instead of flat topped, nazal and guard helmet I gave them nose guarded bascinet, great and full helms. For Vaegirs I changed horses at least courser, more armored horses and gave mask helmet for the biggest boyars. I gave Sarranid horses for some Khergits and some masked helmets (Steppe people had them at first). Rhodok counts should have at least hunter horses and I changed their helmets, too. Better horses for Sarranid lords and some veiled helmet for the most powerful ones.
-Some rulers should have better equipments.
-I suggest to rework the equipments of some units including bandits using logic and style. For example Swadian castle guards shouldn't have expensive plate armors while even lords don't have it.
-Gear of the lords should be dependent from their lands. The towns are the richest places so I suggest to give maximum equipment for their owners. For example plate armor and accessories for Swadians, etc.
-Faces should be reworked. Sarranids should be browner (more sunshine). Lords and ladies, city and village folk, too. General concepts for the races would be cool for every nation and natives. This might differ from the IRL races of course. Older people should look older. Especially the Ladies where I observed this.
-I suggest to reduce the Jarls' riding skill and raise their power throw. Many of them have throwing axes but only some have horses. Some lords may have skills because they may have healers, rangers and similar.
-Some travellers and ransom brokers should be sarranid.
-I changed one of the booksellers to Sarranid because the science flourished in the muslim world in the target period.
EQUIPMENTS
The appearance of some items don't reflect their actual abilities.
For example:
Helmets
-Kettle hat has chain neckguard and generally looks like almost as cool like bascinets.
-Bascinets should be differentiated by armor value.
-Vaegir lamellar helmet looks better than its armor value suggests.
-Vaegir spiked helmet looks better than its armor value suggests.
-Helm with neckguard looks better than its armor value suggests.
-Vaegir fur helmet looks far better than its armor value suggests.
-Sarranid keffije helmet looks worse compared to its armor value.
-Segmented helmet looks worse compared to its armor value.
-Nomad cap is actually a helmet and not a cap. It is cool but more armor value needed.
-Vaegir fur cap is actually a helmet and not a cap. It is cool but more armor value needed.
-Khergit cavalry helmet looks better than its armor value suggests.
-Nasal helmet needs more armor value.
-Sarranid horseman helmet needs more armor value.
-Khergit helmet needs more armor value.
Bows
The very big Strong and war bows should be used only on foot!
Armors
-Plate armor should be tougher, need more price and no cheaper variants. Currently one can skip buying cheaper armor than plate in the game.
-Nomad armor should be weaker but its price at least doubled.
-Studded leather should be tougher.
-Padded cloth a bit tougher.
-Mail and plate far tougher. Only npcs have it.
-Leather armor a bit tougher.
-Steppe armor tougher.
-Leather vest tougher.
-Khergit armor tougher.
-Archers vest weaker.
-Scale armor far weaker, similar to lamellar vest.
-Sarranid guard armor tougher.
-Light leather (#580) weaker.
-Nomad robe weaker.
In my game I halved the price of the nonmetal armors.
Scale and lamellar gauntlets should have the same price because their armor is the same.
Melee weapons
-Big weapons should be used only on foot. Like great sword and sword of war, bigger bardiches, or actually all bardiches.
Leg armor
Splinted leather greaves should be far better. It shows leather and chain and looks far tougher than mail chausses and splinted greaves and mail boots which ones should be weaker.
EXTRA ITEM MODIFIERS
-Balanced weapons should give more speed and fewer damage. +-1 point would do the job.
-Tempered swords should similarly frequent like balanced ones.
-Masterwork weapons should give +1-2 more speed.
-Heavy horses should have reduced speed and maneuver. -1 is enough.
-Spirited and champion horses should give more maneuver for their price. And maybe some extra charge.
-Degraded modifiers make the items too cheap.
Till now I rebalanced helmets, armors, helmets, greaves, gauntlets, bows in my game. I use different horse stats but tastes may differ in this case.
Anyway do the developers read these threads?
