lord taken prisoner

of the few lords i was able to convince to join my rebel cause, one of them has been taken prisoner as ive learned from asking the other lords of his wherabouts. i checked all the prisons of my enemy towns, but could not find him in the cells. is it possible he's in the prison of a neutral faction?

and by chance one of the scrolling messages said my faction caught one of the kings as prisoner, though i dont have a city to keep him prisoner, where could he be?

edit: nevermind, i just noticed that lords can indeed become prisoners of deserters, mountain bandits and such (in the party that is).

... no luck finding him in any party, friend or foe--this is with ctrl+t on i hope whichever party that has him didnt wander off the map on the curaw side

If you use CTRL+T, make sure to check closely for outlaws in the woods. They can be hard to spot. Also, I think when a lord is released, it may take a few game days for him to respawn (not 100% sure however).

How does that work?  I am independently taking over castles and towns from each faction, and I noticed that each time I wipe out a kingdom, the lords will drift to a new faction, and the more I take over, the more war parties I wind up having to split up and take on.  I can't convince prisoner lords to join, so I didn't think it was possible to get them fighting for you.

Yeah, when taking territories, you are acting completely alone, and as you take over factions, you will find old lords hating you more and more, piles of lords will collect in single castles, each building an army to fight you.

What I do (and has been reported in other threads) is I don't ransom them off, I put them in an upgraded dungeon, where they sit there as my prisoner forever, or until they escape (if they are lucky enough too).  This way they aren't out there spawning new armies to try to take back my castles, towns, etc.

At the moment, I have 15 lords in my dungeon... its like a zoo.
