Trollerblade

Recruit
Sorry but the Looters are with stone shooting too strong. The accuracy is to good, they are sharpshooting with it and hitting with every secound stone.
I fight 7 Looters, there are 4-5 of them shooting with stones, with a horse(armor 30) and bow (doesnt matter) have a good Armor, but me and my horse really get stoned.

befor patch e1.0.6 , i fight 20 Looters alone with horse and bow without any armor
after patch e1.0.6, i must fear bigger then 7 looter party and this with horsearmor und me with good armor.

oh and i play with all realistic settings.

!!Sry for bad english!!

You need to keep the distance and maintain a high speed, then it will be fine even if they are archers. You can be easily shot if you get too close. However, in the early stage, you can hardly mount fast horses so i recommend you simply recruit some troops. Even tier 1 army can easily slaughter an equivalent people looters. I think the looter is about tier 0 unit. Remember, mount and blade without mod is not a hero game XD, you need your allies!

this is exactly what i am doing, run around them and shot with bow.
but with high speed and distance its hard to hit them with bow.

what i mean ist the difference befor and after the patch

i know its not a hero game but befor i fight 20 looters and kill them or fight 7 looters and get stoned

If the stones really annoy you you can go to Modules\Sandbox\Moduledata, find bandits.xml, open with notepad and search for looters, then remove the entry that adds stones, is very easy and quick.

At first, Looters were no problem...like, too much of an pushover even for the early-game pushovers they're supposed to be. Then one of the patches (maybe 1.0.4?) "corrected AI ranged aim calculation error" (or words to that effect). Suddenly Looters got a lot tougher (so did other ranged units, but was probably most immediately noticeable with Looters, because those are the most typical opponents for the player to solo for some early/easy XP). Each individual hit didn't hurt much, but it was a LOT of very accurate hits if they're focus-firing on the player character. Now a couple patches later they've dialed back the Looter stones a bit. Maybe some more refinement needs to be done, but I think they're progressing toward a happy medium here.

And yeah, they're Blunt damage, so more armor doesn't mitigate the damage as much as with other damage types.
