Loot from castles / sieges

first, this mod is awesome and thanks for so much hard work put into it!
second, I apologize if this is covered in a thread somewhere. i did a few searches but did not come up with anything:

what does it take to get loot from winning a siege?  i know in native you got loot from castles, but i have yet to get any loot. i'm playing with the final version of brtenwalda.

i first participated in a successful castle siege against a kingdom that did not like me, but i was not part of the attacking faction: no loot
i then participated in a successful castle siege with a kingdom where i was employed as a mercenary band.

i have yet to initiate an attack or participate as a lord.  thanks!

loot as in stuff? or as in money? as far as i have ever seen, you dont get stuff from a taking a castle, just money, and only if you are in charge of the siege
