Loot from battles need some kind of rework

It would be nice like other games to rarely get a top tier weapon or armor, you tell me every battle I defeat a lord I am never able to loot a top tier item, it doesn't need to be common but also does every item have to be cracked or broken.
That would be a massive improvement. I realize that you can't just give the player all of the good loot, but if there was, say, a 5% chance of pulling one item from the high end of the loot pool, that would be huge. These drops would still be pretty rare, but they'd happen frequently enough to keep you hooked. Right now, loot feels like a crooked casino where nobody ever wins the big jackpot.

Now I got the document for new / old item prices. And what I see is changes seem good. Price of expensive items for high tier troops are generally reduced by 4-5x even some are 10x while low tier ones are usually similar :

anWdJ.png

Formula is still same by the way and which troop has which item data will not change. So you will get 440 value of expected loot from a killed tier-5 troop same as older versions. However it will make more sense with new reduced values and you will get see loot dropped from high tier troops after battles. I will try to make this formula 20x for nobles. So a level 26 lord will give 20x more expected loot which is about 9K. So you will get about 5-10% chance of getting his 50K item. (Even still leaving 50K item at battlefield not realistic it is better than 0.1%)
Looks good. Does this also affect shop prices or is this table just for the purpose of more high tier loot?

Looks much more reasonable! Thank you for sharing with us.

Yes it will effect shop prices too and probably solve smithing exploit also. At least this exploit will be less because price of crafted expensive weapons will be reduced.
By the way have you seen the Improved Garrisons 3.0 mod? I think that entire mod should be implemented into the base game. It really fleshes out the purpose of Garrisons and auto recruiting makes the gameplay loop much more satisfying and rewarding. Riding around in your horse as a mercenary recruiting peasants is immersive. Doing that as a Lord instead of having auto conscriptions? Not so much.

I would suggest to increase the chance of getting higher tier equipment as loot, because some battles can be incredibly taxing or very climatic, and opening that loot screen with items worth 10-40 denars is disappointing. Especially in early game, I always hoped that by beating a party of mountain bandits would get me some half-decent armor (half-decent because the protection values are too low anyways) to let my character more involved in future battles. This is what I always did in Warband, and since the selling prices were relatively low, there was no danger to alter the financial balance of the game.

No pls, loot value already is high enough to make any other economic stuff irrelevant... do not increase it pls, honestly i would vote to be nerfed!!
This^ I wouldn't nerf it though, as for many they still find it hard to stay economically balanced. It all depends on if the player has downtime or not and can easily handle larger parties. No down time and 2X+ parties and you make great gains..... down time and more difficulty.... it's a slower build up of wealth.

I do understand the annoyance that some damaged items have very poor stats, particularly the bows dropped are often worse then the default steppe bow. However, now that gear appears in stores it's not such a problem. You can easily save up for HQ gear by selling the junk.

Bannerlord loot has the weirdly ironic quality of giving you both too much and too little at the same time. What I mean is your total loot hauls can be worth a ton of money simply because all those tattered boots add up to quite a bit of money when you can just take all of it. But despite that, you almost never get anything really special, and that's what really sucks for me. I can't speak for other players, but to me, the loot is a huge huge part of the fun. All my favorite Warband mods were the ones that had things like special loot drops or legendary weapons. I want to have at least a chance of getting a really sweet reward after a tough battle or else it feels kind of pointless. Like I lost half my army for a bunch of ratty old garbage that I outgrew after my second week in the playthrough? Where's the fun in that? Its kind of like if you played Skyrim, but none of the loot leveled with you, so for the whole game all you ever get is the same starter weapons that you picked up in the Helgen dungeon.

(Even still leaving 50K item at battlefield not realistic it is better than 0.1%)
I absolutely don`t understand why some of you here get so excited about this. If I`m not wrong the effects of this will be that
A) we will get a little bit more T4-T6 stuff but still with the worst modifiers (because the prices are still too high)
B) T1-T3 stuff will have worse modifiers (because the prices are a little bit higher)

What should be changed first and foremost is the effect of item modifiers on the prices. This file has to be changed anyway because there are a lot of inconsistencies (many items with worse modifiers are more expensive).

Currently a masterwork sword costs 17.5 times as much as a sword without any modifier which has the consequence that we will never see a masterwork sword in game.

Please make this more balanced and if not tell me at least if I can change this somewhere in a dll file myself. I`m going crazy because of this.

Ah, but as well as you now seeing it in loot tables (albeit damaged), if the real thing costs less in shops you will now be able to equip yourself to the same standard as your soldiers for less than the price of a castle. Companions will be fractionally harder to kill if you can actually afford to give them good armour. Also with the base price coming down there is a slim chance of seeing masterwork items in shops as they will now retail for less than a million. I just hope they add a lordly version for armour (like masterwork, slightly better stats, much more expensive price) as it's nice to have high end gear to aim for, but not if it means you are in rags when your army are in scale armour.
Huge thanks for this fix : )

Have you ever seen something with a modifier on it in a shop? Does it make sense that there is T1 and T2 loot with good modifiers but the rest is all rusty and cracked (not because of the damage received in battle but the price? Lol). No, it doesn`t and not everybody likes to be forced to buy equipment only because the whole mechanic is poorly thought out.
