Looking for a mod that allows you to recruit from major cities

Why isn't this in the vanilla game?  Anyone got a link to a mod that only adds this to vanilla?

Don't know of any vanilla mods, but some mod modules have this. I saw it the first time in M&B 1.011 in the mod Native Expansion, where there were "peasant" troop trees from the villages, and "nobility" troop trees from the towns. I really liked that system, and eagerly follow the porting process to Warband of that mod!

I know almost nothing about mods but I know the most recent Floris Expanded Mod Pack (and possibly the Basic Mod Pack as well) allow recruiting from cities and castles you own. Prior to gaining a fief you're still stuck with villages though. As for what else it adds, since I see you aren't looking for a complete rework of Native, basically you have: replaced castles, awesome textures on the battlefield, new troop tree (with in-game layout under "Reports" though the Native troop tree can easily be used instead), something like 1500 new items and horses with an in-game index (under "Reports"), and of course, the Diplomacy mod which makes interactions with NPC's much more fluid with the added options. Oh, and some Custom Commander options such as autolooting and auto upgrading the equipment of companions. And there is an option to turn their arguments off so you can rock all 16 without issue.

In Brytenwalda noble citizens can be recruited from towns. It's not often though, but they're very good.

Native Expansion was pure gold. I miss the Knight Lords most; native Swadian knights are a far cry from their top-tier NE counterparts. Do you have a link to the mod's thread/board?

Thanks. I thought they'd make a new thread in the Caravanserai section (since it will be a Warband port) but that's just fine. Loving the screenshots already.
