As the title says. I've been trying to find a Lord Of The Rings conversion mod for Warband for a while, but all the ones I've found seem to be missing a few of the native features. In particular I can't seem to find any that allow for the player to be independent and make their own faction, which is one of my favorite features of Warband at least not from any I've seen that have been released yet.
Looking for a LOTR based mod with faction creation.

All the LotR mods I know about have at least one thing in common... they do not allow for an independent player faction. Tolkein is replete with factions on its own, and to do a mod which is fairly true to either the books or the movies, the is no room for a player faction (at least that's the premise of the current LotR mods).

I would say that even with trying to be faithful to the books and movies that there's plenty of room for a player faction. It's a time of great war and strife, there's always going to be at least a few people of all the races (except maybe the Uruk Hai, since they're just being made) that are always going to take advantage of that to try and take over while everybody else is distracted with seemingly bigger threats. Besides, the mods themselves already allow for the player's presence to tip the balance on the side of evil if the player chooses one of the evil factions, I wouldn't say this is too much of a leap after that.TalonAquila said:
It's true though, all the LOTR mods I've seen avoid giving players the option of a player faction, which is why I made this thread, just in case there are some more obscure ones that do that I have yet to find. Veiled Stars seems to be the only one that even gives the possibility, and it's not out yet. It's a shame though, creating one's own faction creates countless potential for replayability and role playing that just don't exist when you're restrained to one faction or another.
