Master Knight
How do I change the various loading screens? The pictures of horsemen wearing armor don't fit my mod. I can't seem to find the image files for those screens.

Actually the three images for the loading screens are "pic_horse_archers", "pic_mb_warrior_1", "pic_mb_warrior_2", "pic_mb_warrior_3", and the one on the main menu is "pic_mercenary".

You do need a .dds converter, but the images only have to be square - the sky is the limit on size.

That makes 4

Also you don't need a DDS converter is you use photoshop, you can get a plugin which makes it so you can edit them with photoshop as dds.

Oh and, even if you don't have a NVIDIA graphic card, it will word. I don't have one and I can use that thing.

Yeah, but 1024x1024 fits best. If your loading screen is supposed to take up the whole space, 1024x1024 is what you need, IIRC.

If you wanted a free image editor get GIMP
Then download the dds plugin. Google it. There is one for gimp and for photoshop. I'd advise you do that instead of downloading the dds converter program.
Then download the dds thumbnail view. Google that too, it will allow you to see dds images in windows explorer.

GIMP is very sharp, thanks for the tip!

Thank you everyone for the advice.

I use both paint.net and gimp, depending on what I want to do. I like many of the actual coloring and art features of gimp. While I generally only use paint.net to deal with transparency and saving as DDS. Paint.net also is pretty neat for copy/pasting as well, since it will paste what you copied in the same area from where you copied, rather than always in the upper left corner, like with paint or gimp.
