Need More Info Loading screen persists after battle starts.

Summary: Early on a new character I came across a group of looters. I initiated a battle with them but the loading screen never went away. I could hear the sounds of the battle but nothing I did would close the loading screen. Even after the battle was finished I was unable to close the loading screen. Tab and escape had no effect. I had to Alt-Tab out of the game and shut it down from Steam.
How to Reproduce: Unlikely to recreate as I've played hundreds of battles but this never happened before.
