Little question about the expantion

Users who are viewing this thread

Hi,

I dont know if these have been asked yet, but then i only browsed  the first 4 pages of posts.

Anyway, here are my questions:

1: Is there any plans on making the full M&B game multiplayer?

By this i mean the whole running around the map challenging other armies, raiding villages and doing all sorts of evily acts of fun-ness.  Tbh, the game would be epic if we could play against eachother, owning towns and castles and having full on wars with people just for the lols.... tho the map would have to be MUCH bigger.... and would requier more features.... yeah....

2: Can we use our previously created characters in the multi-player system?

It will be very irritating to have to abandon my nice lvl 64 meat-grinder for a lvl 1 pansy and have to fight someone who's been playing for a while and who dances over your corps laughing like a evily evil person as you respawn.

3: What scale of multi-player siege are we talking about here... 50 man?...  100 man?

The reason i ask is due to the fact not everyone has an uber fast speed ultra cool-ness braudband of speedy ultra cool-ness... so you less fortunate people will start to suffer in game if the battle size is too big.  Especialy with the gfx upgrades (nice work btw).

4: im going to persume no mods, custom items or anything created by anyone other than those of Taleworlds will be banned from the multi-player system... but then would mod'er's be alowed to create a multiplayer mod for M&B?  persuming they hoast theyre own server and such ofcourse.

Just so i know if i have to ovoid specific servers or not.  Can't be bothered fighting the "Uber-customized-one-handed-greatsword-of-uber-damage-and-uber-bonuses-that-one-hit-kills-you-while-i-lol-at-you-for-i-have-1337-skillz-despite-the-fact-i-need-this-sword-to-make-up-for-my-small-penis." sword

Anyway, any answer will be nice, even if its just mocking my "speelling eroors", or anything realy.... remember... lurk more, its never enough ^.^

Um, well I can answer that it's 32 player online, So I doubt the 100 man sieges.

And as far as importing characters. From what i've seen, I think you use preset soldiers(Rhodok Sharpshooter, Swadian Footman, stuff like that)

EDIT: You gave me permission to mock you. So stop sucking so bad at the English language.

I cant help it, I suck at spelling lol.

An i was mentioning that due to the fact they said it was 32 player, yet in some games you get NPC's.  so basicly.  is it max of 16 a side, coundint NPC's and PC's.  Or 32 PC's + theyre respective troops.

1. No. Multiplayer seems to be a separate mode with just battles & sieges. The single-player will get some new stuff for the expansion though.

2. No. As Aesthetic said, you'll play as a predefined troop. You won't necessarily be level 1, but I think all the character abilities would be the same so that it comes down purely to the player's skill.

3. A total of 32 PCs, but with possibility for higher numbers with additional NPCs.

4. It has been confirmed that multiplayer will be moddable.

Bollocks, if it's modable, your gonna have all the little kiddies with theyre "sword of compensating" running around.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

I think your post was fine, I do assume you don't speak english as your mother tongue, however?

No, it will be strictly battles against humans, or a co-op mode of 4 players+ against an army of AI.

2: Can we use our previously created characters in the multi-player system?

No news on this, but from the IGN video, it looks similar to CoD 4, BF 2, etc. In that you will choose preset classes. For example, in the video, there is the choice to be a Swadian Man at Arms, Crossbowman, or Sergeant.

3: What scale of multi-player siege are we talking about here... 50 man?...  100 man?

32 human players, and as many bots as you can handle.(I think)

It will be moddable yes, but maybe not, unless they can make it compatible, but they seem to be having no problems so far. I also hope it will be kept to private servers.

I know a bit off topic... but discussing the 32 players online thing brought this up... I'm still hoping that one day these guys get on the MMORPG train and bring this game to it's full potential. Now don't get me wrong... I still like the idea of a single player separate from everything else... so keep at that too. But, you could make a game so extensive that it would crush all other MMO's with the game mechanics already in place.

Imagine taking to the field with 100 of your friends/clanmates. You could be a king of some small group and wreak havoc on the countryside. :P I'd like to see that myself. But, I know it's VERY looked down upon here.

Lord Shields, as you are aware that it isn't popular idea, I'm going to go lightly.

To make M&B an MMO, would utterly destroy the great community we have here, and no point in mods, etc.(even for the single player) and I still don't see why this would be better than any other MMO other than it's combat.

Well no not necessarily. You have games like Freelancer that operate separate "servers" that support mods. So the modding wouldn't need to stop and you could always play in a hundred different environments if you wanted to (from Native, to Greek, to Roman, etc).

I think the combat is the most innovative out there yes. But there's elements in place that could be expanded upon that would truly set it above the rest (settlement creation, espionage, etc). We've seen what these mods can do... and how far this game could really go for the individual player. If those ideas were pooled together and made bigger... I think an MMO would blow all others out of the water.

Of course you run the risk of bringing in the WoW crowd and everyone else who would feel threatened by this. But with what they have now, I think it would be silly not to get on board before someone else does it and takes full credit for it.
