Little mod's question?

I heard that there are alot of mods out there that make your game crash, so now I was wondering how do I know witch mods crash and witch won't .. also I am wondering if the Fallout mod and Lotr mod's won't crash .. though I guess that is best a question to ask for the maker. Though I am not getting any responses yet on ModDB

Some mods are for older versions, which if you don't have that version, you'll crash.
