Hey everyone, thought I'd start a new post where everyone who is having the crash to desktop problem can list their names and computer specs. Please keep the thread clean. Specs, settings and crash details only please.

AMD Athlon64 3000+
1G 400 MHZ RAM
MSI - MicroMB - Onboard Sound + Ethernet
MSI - Geforce4 6600GT PCIE(x16) -128M
WindowsXP Professional - Service Pack 2

All drivers current and WHQL certified.

The Crash happens in large fights or if I load a game and start moving in the world map, then click the party button. (It also happens if I give a mount horses command but am comanding only footsoldiers, maybe they're trying to mount defeated enemies horses?)

Er, it would be nice for there to be a <1 option. You seem to have a poor opinion of our systems' stability.

More than 3

Though this has been reduced from 'almost constantly' since I reinstalled the game (no permenant corpses option didn't make much difference)

My CTDs have only occured in combat aside from one occasion when I was in the starter town..

A64 3200+(s754) (now running at stock)
1 GB ram (running at stock 200mhz, 2-4-4-8 )
DFi nf3 motherboard
AGP GF6800GT (now running at stock)
Audigy 2ZS
raptor 74GB hdd (for what it's worth..can't see how this'd have an effect)

drivers/etc: WinXPsp2, Nforce 6.37, Forceware 71.89, latest creative drivers for the ZS (can't remember version number/name offhand).

I don't see the point in having a <1 choice... Obviously *some* people don't have the problem, but this thread is obviously trying to track down the cause of the problem in some way ;)

Perhaps if you've had none, you'd post your system specs also?

Sorry guys that was dense of me. It won't let me add the >1 option now. A good "guesstimate" would be that those who view and don't vote have much less of a problem with crashing to desktop.

(I in no way meant this as a reference to each users system stability. This is a beta tester's forum and figured we'd go by the assumption that if you don't have a problem running the game you don't need to post. Apologies to anyone who's taken offence.)

I dunno about that method of guessing. I've viewed this thread over 3 times now already and I voted for ">3" :D

Unless the game is *very very* sensitive, I don't think it's likely that it's system stability. My system passes hours of prime95/memtest loops and combined prime95+3dmark loops. It seems more likely to be a game bug and/org an incompatibility with something..somewhere...

I have been playing the latest beta download version for 3 days now and have had no crashes what-so-ever. I am running on this platform:

eVGA Geforce FX5500 128MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card
ASUS A7N8X-X Socket A (Socket 462) NVIDIA nForce2 400 ATX AMD Motherboard
Seagate 80GB HD
1GB RAM Corsair ValueSelect
Soundblaster Audigy Sound Card
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton 333MHz FSB

I have the latest nVidia drivers and the latest sound drivers.

I have the crash on my savegame when I click the [P]arty key on the worldmap.

I'm playing on a laptop, P4 2,8 512 MB ram, SiS video card.

Has anyone suffering the problem before tested the new version to see if it's been resolved?

(btw..reducing battle size 'seemed to' help with me..but the problem is intermittent enough that I might just have been lucky) :)
