Try not to double post, maybe just an edit? Anyway about your bug, mine works fine. The only mercs I have seen are the Private Militia, not sure if they are the only ones available or not, but which mercs are you trying to purchase?

I tried the militia and some mercenarly cavalry
 
If you want to mess with stats realistically:

Charleville: Used as smaller caliber but was more accurate (Less damage more accuracy)
Brown Bess: More expensive to produce but larger caliber and less accurate (More expensive, more damage, less accuracy)
 
as much as i appreciate nethros work on this mod lets give some props to Kievan Mereel for taking up the gun and fighting for the freedom of america!

btw i know it probally wasnt truly that important but i feel american troops should look alot more rabbly where they mostly werent uniformed but rather in peasant clothes or better yet make it so that they are a seperate different fork in troop upgrades were they would be rabble looking.

also where my indians at home boy? i know they didnt play a major role but i do believe in history they did help both sides even
 
Gun Size seems off in the new version. Remember Muskets were about 4-6 feet long.

Models seem a bit strange. Good work though.
 
after playing for some time I made a list of changes I think would make it better


Gameplay
Give the player ALOT more health, like in alle gun mods for M&B, it's imposible to protect againt bullets and if you fight larger battles, it's near impossible to surive if you stay in line. you can hid behind your tropps, but then you'll never get xp.
fix the weapons and and more of them, get real officers swords of the period, and cavalry sabers, give the riflemen, rifles, Long rifles to be more precise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_rifle. british should have brown bess, americans brown bess and Charleville, give the milita brown bess and Charleville to the regulars(an amry should have more milita then regulars.
Fix the troop tree. It should go like this milita---->lligt infantry, riflemen, then another line split of the milita to line infantry and grenadiers

get someone to make better uniforms, you should also decide if you want southern iniforms or nothern, or both, they are quite diffrent
the cut down the tricorne so it made a round hat. to protect from the sun, and they cut the "tail" of the jackets so they are shorter.
but this isn't that important. what is is the Muskets
a musket should have the bayonet on even when it's shooting, and with a bayonet it should be 6 feet, the long rifles didnt have a bayonet but was 6 feet even without.

Thanks for the responses guys, your excitement is appreciated.  Let me respond to some of your posts:

Poor Models:  Yes, we know.  What we have, both uniforms and muskets, were unused scraps from the Perennial Nuisance mod, generously given by Dain.  Better and more varied uniforms, muskets, and rifles are planned in the future, but you're more than welcome to make some yourself and submit them for use in the mod.  We're very short on modellers.

Hiring Mercenaries: I ran into that bug once during development, but never again.  I will look into it more to see if I can reproduce it.

Balance issues will be taken into consideration.  Remember, this was a quick marriage of Nethros' .903 code and the map I recently made -- most of the effort was made to remove the Native factions and get it working, so we could focus on "starting from the ground up" for the .960 version.

I hope to finalize my plans for the upcoming versions in the next little while.  I will then post them so you, the community, can offer to contribute, as I plan on doing this as a semi- open source project.  I'll let you know right now that models for scenes and items are sorely needed, so feel free to make and post anything you feel like making.

Just extract the files to your Liberty or Death folder and overwrite the existing files.  Note that you won't be able to use your existing savegames with the new map.  Since it's for the currently released version it still has the Native factions in there, but now that I have Nethros' code I ought to be able to do something about that soon.  Any feedback on the map is welcome and will be taken into consideration for future versions.

I also have plans for new scenes, lords, scripted historical battles, etc, which I will probably post when I get it all compiled.  So until then, enjoy the new map!

im too lazy to look.. so.. What version of M&B is LoD for? Also, where can i download that version.. and how do i install it.. IM TOO LAZY TO LOOK!

errr.. can i get it for .960 right away.. or another version than the patch?
 
C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules. It's not to hard to look.

Be happy with the current patch. Kievan Mereel is porting it right now, be patient.
