Don't you agree, leveling up is too tedious now? I mean: the effective MAX level is around lvl 30: after that gaining experience becomes way too slow...

I disagree on the grounds that, once you get to lvls 20-30, you're strong enough to take on anyone!

There isn't really any actual need to be higher than around lvl 30, because by then you are a higher lvl than all the units in the game anyway (but don't quote me on that, because I don't know the exact lvl of dark knights)

I like it that you can no longer immediately shoot up to the top level (Not 50 anymore, not sure what the new cap is), but I agree that it's excessive.

In the end, though, what the guys are saying is true. There's no real need to reach the top levels anyway.

Completely agreed with okiN.

It no longer feels like there's a level cap since just the effort put into reaching 30 seems incredible (let alone 40, let alone 50, let alone 60 if that's the new 'cap'), and you're more than capable of conquering the world some time in your twenties.

However, it really doesn't need to be this difficult.

That summarization wasn't any different from the ones above.

Oh well.

I prefer slow levelling, it lets you play around with everything in the game not just go straight to (for example) reinforced black armour, spirited charger, double-sided lance and steel shield by fighting black knights single-handed. .700 onwards was the first time I ever played using picks or hammers, and I think it's a lot more fun.

Getting to level 50 in a few days was more like Baldur's Gate 2 style go-from-lowly-peasant-to-all-the-power-of-the-elder-gods-in-a-single-month gameplay, and I really can't see why you'd prefer that.

Perhaps this should be a game option. That way you can satisfy the people who want to level slowly and those who want to level quickly.

Yes.

Options, always think options.

I think the experience increase if fine however, after level 30 the experience it takes to level should become linear. I've never been a level whore on any game. You know...the people that sit there thinking..."omg, just 8 more hours of clicker's quest and i'm gonna hit level 42!!! w00t!". And that stuff about you being godlike at level 20 ONLY applies if you play mounted. Once you get a bastard sword of any quality and a halfway decent horse (standard courser or even less) you can solo almost any group with relative ease. Largely because when mounted, the game becomes mostly about equipment and much much less dependent on character level and skills. The difference between a level 20 and a level 40 mounted character is not that much. But on foot, that is a HUGE difference. And even still, a level 50 foot character is nowhere near as effective and powerful as a level 20 mounted one (yes, i've had both). I'm not suggesting that you get more exp on foot or anything, just that level matters alot less while mounted, so foot characters and kinda getting stepped on (haha, i made funny...).

I think the reason why you can solo large parties is that the game is partially reflex based. However if your stats are too low, you will have to hit maybe 10 times (5-10 damage each time) to kill a dark knight. I like the fact that if you are talented, have good eye hand coordination and fast reflexes as a real person, you can solo 15-20 dark knights even with a level 5 character and with moderate equipment. I know its very difficult and you must be extremely careful, but its possible.

Because of the game being partially reflex based, a problem arises at this point. Its very difficult to make the AI beat the player in reflex based games. You know people are intelligent and they will eventually find the weak point of the AI and will abuse it like people do in this game. Programmers can not think every possible scenario. If you want to see typical examples of this, go to an arcade saloon. Because the games there are strictly reflex based, you will see that the kids have already found the weaknesses of each and every one of the games.

I think solution to this is, increase the stats of high level enemies like dark knights. Make the dark knights level 50 for example. Im not talking about increasing their hit points to insane amounts (this is very cheap, already seen in a lot of games). Xerina is already level 46 and I can beat her most of the time. If they are too difficult for you when you are at level 20, you would stay away until you are level 30 with better equipment. When we finally be able to solo them, introduce new better enemies in to Caladria. My point is there must always be a kind of enemy that can give us very hard time.

i had a lvl 49 guy in .632 and i thing it wasn't too hard to get there... though i never got lvl 50 character there was about about 10 milj. Xp and the new version came before i got those Xps
