Is there a max level that ur char can get to? If not, is there a max number of ranks that you can put into any one skill?

The maximum level in practice at this point is level 50. At 50 the XP required for the next level jumps to a very large amount. Whether you would actually be advanced another level if you actually managed to obtain that amount I'm not sure.
I believe the highest "main" skill points can be raised to is 8. I do not know what if any caps exist for attributes and weapon skills.
