Let's Talk Player Faction Exploit .960

As has been side-mentioned in a couple of posts now, in version .960 we actually have the ability to create our own faction (at last!)... well sort of.

Again, as mentioned previously this can be done by going to Jelbeig Castle.  Going to the Lord's Hall, walking outside of the hall into the courtyard by going through the door in the hall, talking to your clone, who is actually you, and then pleding yourself to yourself, and thus, a new faction is born, called the "Player Faction" all of the estates that your player bragged to your player are all transferred to the new Player Faction.  If you were currently working with another King, that is canceled out, you lose those quests, as you now belong to a new faction.  You can now send your lords off on quests, and such.  All your estates belong to a faction, your faction, and you are no longer a lord without a master.  You can actually have respect among the other kings!

Problems encountered (so far):

1.  You are the only Lord you have to order about.
2.  The second you attack and take a castle or town belonging to another faction, you automatically leave your own faction and become a rebel of whoever you attacked (and your old king self gets to keep the estates, and your new stuff is rebels, and your old stuff is Player Faction which you still control, but the game doesn't say you own it anymore (because that clone is the one who actually owns it).

That's all I have so far.  So what else do we have anyone else tried anything else?  Discovered anything new?  Any new discoveries on how to make the Faction Stable?  I'll be doing more experiments with this and updating this thread.

I'll tell you right now, I was glad when they removed the old supernatural things like the Necromancer's Lair. Now, however, they've taken a step in the wrong direction and have added experimental cloning technology to Jelbegi castle! It isn't supposed to be there! It's an anachronism, surely. They didn't have cloning technology in the middle ages! Preposterous! In order to actually clone something you would have to violate the law of conservation of mass, which you can't. In order to get around this, you'd need some sort of teleportation device, which takes mass from some other place, moves it to the location at which you're cloning, and rearranges it in the correct manner. This would require that the mass be accelerated past the speed of light, which we've deemed to be impossible, and thus cloning is entirely silly! Unless of course you're willing to take the time and put forth the effort required to stick some sperm in an egg and grow it out of a test tube. Then you'd have to sit there and make sure it doesn't die while it grows up. Then once it's grown up, you'd have to teach it everything you know. Otherwise it wouldn't be you at all, would it?

Ok. So what about if you had every thing the human body was made up of and mad a clone that way? You wouldn't be taking away any mass or anything like that because it already exist and you can go faster then the speed of light. The way is by ether worm hole which bends space and time so you get from one place to another faster then light and there is where you can create a bubble behind you of great mass of which it will bend space and time which it will send you faster then the speed of light.

Not tryen to sound like a know it all just my dad is a physics teacher and he just talks about it nonstop. Lol.

Jeez! Now my head hurts! lol.
It would be cool to be able to have your own faction and name it, though.

I never went deep enough into physics fantasy-land to believe in bending space-time or "wormholes". I think these concepts are rubbish. I'm sure physicists that make it through the educational system have to swallow a lot of theory-heaped-upon-theory though, which takes its toll on your perception. I know that the 4 physics classes I took scarred me for life (in a good way).

As far as constructing a human manually, modern biologists still wish they could manually build one living cell. We have never been able to assemble something that lives. If we could, it would change things f'sho'.

I hope that the devs release just ONE more bugfix patch, to dispense with this silliness. It is entertaining to read about, but I don't want to cope with some hyperdimensional Calradia personally.

I shall explain the cloning using Fantasy physics! You see, when you're going to the clone's castle you stumble upon a rift before arriving. This rift is an unstable part of our universe which brings character to alternate dimension. Of course there is always a difference with dimensions but your character is still there. You meet yourself. When you leave the castle you go back through the rift bringing you back to the normal dimension, our dimension. I learned so much from Stargate  .

i think theres a clone of yourself for every faction so far ive met the one at jelbegi and haringoth
hilarious speech if u ask him if hes heard of you first rages at you then at that nord claimant

Hmm. I think fantasy physics are beyond my feeble grasp of the universe. Thanks for trying though!
I'll just stick with classical and maybe dabble in quantum, avoiding scary, mysterious worms.

I'm hoping that if I ever get time to play the game, I'll be knowledgable enough to figure out why I can do full damage at the start of my attack swing.

He's your good twin, because it's pretty obvious you are the evil one.

Further experimentation on this exploit has revealed:

1) If you order your Player Faction to start a Campaign and gather troops, then (in the case of Jeilberg), Nord Armies begin to collect (and no you can't control them, they just simply collect).

2) If you decide to leave your own faction, all of your estates remain in the Player Faction, and you lose them all.  When you visit them, they have all become like Zendar, neutral holdings without a Lord, that have declared their independence.

Is it that hard for someone to make a mod to give you your own kingdome?  Just take the abilities from a rebelion, where lords will come over to you, but with your own faction.  And tweak the AI so they see you as a king.  Maybe you can name it too.

I would love a mini-mod that does that.  Nothing else, nothing new, just tweak the system to allow it.

Actually, there was something like that in 'Bandit King' Mod... I think, but that was some time ago.  This player faction exploit... its like... sooo close to what every one wants... like a teaser.

On a somewhat related note, you can garrison yourself in a town or castle (without any other troops) and the enemy doesn't seem to be able to capture it. You can still enter battle and so forth, however, despite not actually being in your party. This could be used to guard a Player Faction property without having to constantly come back to rescue it from angry attackers.

I found my clone at tulburg castle (or something like that). I was suprised at first and scared afterwards, thinking the game was replacing me with an NPC.
Good to hear it's all a part of the game.
For the guys who don't like the whole cloning story. Picture you're actually having a vision that tells you to start a new faction or something like that.

Too bad, I haven't found a way to make the Player Faction stable (you will know what I mean when you try to take over your next castle or town after joining your own player faction).

This is, the Twilight Zone...

Thanks vonBlood.

They sould make it a Feature in the next version or some one should mod in that ability. Make your "hear" units your lords and stuff.
