Lets have an actual, civil, class balance discussion.

Just a shower thought. For a gamemode that is supposedly a preventative measure against snowballing, having 33% more lives than your opponent during the final round certainly contributes a lot to snowballing.
Most rounds I’ve played have ended in 3-0 for one stack or the other so I’d have to agree

This has actually been pretty actual and civil. Good ****, community. I'll be on standby if it starts getting stupid, though.

The only issue I've been frustrated with is the mevalion or whatever's its called on the courser from empire. That thing has a number of problems:

1. Fast animation, even stabs are faster than most spears.
2. The range, other than a direct spear stab from infantry/cav the range is enough to beat almost every other weapon.
2. 10x easier to hit someone with this thing on cav than a spear currently. Spear stab on cav is so wonky and unreliable.
3. Bump kill, this is one of the few weapons that can easily bump someone with cav and immediately hit them for a kill. Great for killing shielders.
3. Unbelievable damage. Almost guaranteed to one shot anything in it's path, even with slow speed on the horse.
4. Only 130 gold for this unit?

In the hands of a skilled player this **** is beyond op right now. Yes archers can still shoot them but the horses are fast so it's harder to hit them.

Other than that the only balance issue is straight up some factions have better infantry than others and on small maps that's going to be a problem because cav isn't a factor. I'm not saying all infantry has to be equal, but each faction should have unique infantry strengths. I also agree with maybe buffing heavy cav a little and making them all 200g so people can't keep using them.

Just some thoughts off the top of my head:
  • Cav has stupid amounts of health. With spurring, they can escape almost immediately without being punished. The armor bonus is still much too high. They shouldn't cost 200g until this issue has been resolved.
  • Polearms and 2h on cav is broken. You can swing too fast and have incredible range.
  • Hitboxes currently extend to behind you, nearly out of your POV. That's just bad design for melee weapons and incredibly non-intuitive for everyone involved. You, enemies, teammates. It also leads to ridiculous styles of fighting where your character is running away looking the opposite direction 90% of the time, relying on the massive hitboxes to hit the person behind you.

This is an extremely unpopular opinion and I will get sent to the 13th circle of hell for saying it, but Ive found med cav and glaive lancers to be extremely weak to other cav. I basically treat them as a free cav v cav kill on C before the fight starts. With that said they are absolutely bonkers against infantry.

That's not really. A lot of people try it on cav, but it's really easy to outrange them with an actual polearm. I don't think the perk is bad in concept, because it has obvious counterplays, but the current swings are broken.

This is true. But completly avoidable. You can't challenge a lance cav unless you're a lance cav regardless of your own weapon (assuming that the people know how to play). There's a proper counter to 2h cav with couches and archers, especially with decent players in the match. That being said their damage is still stupid and should get nerfed.

Yeah. It is still completely over the top.

With the current class system moving the heavy cav to 200 wont change much. I can just have an inf spawn as cav while i spawn as inf second life. We then drop the gear for each other. Since infantry can play cav aswell as a cav unit it doesn't matter. On some factions you might lack abit of armour doing this but it'll overall still be the same.
Did this in a proper 6v6 today since we lacked the gold to spawn twice as heavy cav. worked just fine. A proper attribute system should fix this however.

heavy cav is op because it can be sharted out round 1 and has the stats of an M1 Abrams whilst simultaneously being as fast as sanic the hedgehog even from 0 speed

archers are a bit 2 accurate imo

Empire Courser menavlion/Khuzait Lancer glaives are worse then a lancer class imo provided the difference is covering a radius area and actually aiming with your long stick respectively, plus with the way damage goes by you’d essentially be just 1 hitting anyone if not twice.

I think armoured cav is a bigger problem than the 2 hander guys, those are obnoxious but counterable because low defense, but the armoured cav typically has heavily armoured riders as well, causing them to tank loads of damage whilst still having huge damage output and mobility.

I agree, menavlion cavalry is basically powerless against lance cavalry and archers. The problem with heavy cavalry has to be fixed by editing the armour damage mitigation formula and by increasing the price for the class. It's obvious by now that this armour design is made this way on purpose, otherwise, it would be changed much sooner.

How about we nerf the cav and its' core mechanics instead of making it expensive af. Increasing cost should just be a temporaly solution until the class is balanced.

Because heavy cav doesnt rly have counters and its designed like that.
