Not bad old boy, tho it is incredibly bad form to have all the buttons done up, it either has to be the top for a 2 button or the centre for a 3 button, so I'm told, it may differ in America. London has lot's of silly & pretentious rules about suits & the city & I only ever discovered them when I moved here, beforehand I had all the fashion sense of a bingo caller. Apparently grey is smart, black for funerals & only a cad would wear brown (no brown in the town). Incidentally, I have a partiality for brown suits!
Good shoes like brogues or Oxfords are also a must as the trousers will look baggy without them, I can't afford bespoke just yet so most of my suits are a good buy off the peg & then cheaply altered semi-bespoke from some oik in town. It's not the nametag or where you got it, (although Savile Row will always impress) it's all about the cut & making sure it fits properly!
Also, another silly Brit rule is that formal jackets must have 3 vents, Italian jackets usually have one & any without are probably of dodgy German origin. I must confess I own one with no vents but haven't got round to having it tailored, one wouldn't want to be mistaken for a foreigner.
I'll have to dig out some pics, I'd be interested to hear what the American rules for are for sartorial etiquette, the TV show Frasier seems to be keen on Italian cut.
