STARik. you an old idiot. Demand on new game content doesn't mean any sexual content.

Yes, another thread for personal insults, lets flood this one as well, if you dont like earrings its not a reason to insult other people. And keep own promises here you something to think of yourself: Narrow minded humorless stupid git!

Please people, at least try to act decent. It's hard enough already with all the language barriers.

Its a nice idea despite vikingr was meant to show dirty peasantly looking dark age people poking each other with what they can. But making those rich items properly and rich looking would require a lot of time, not to mention many other things that should be added.
For just two of devs (who have also irl things going on, especially now in summer) it wont be so easy and fast as you would wish, maybe in some distant future. Rich jewelry could also appear on people according to the amount of money they possess.

Aklis 说:
And exactly what function would this fill?

Same function rus fur hat currently is doing - being fancy (useless armor, rich price). Also many tunics share armor stats but are different in price as some are more fancy!

You are right!
Some one buying armor and some one fancy, rich jewelry.

"Rich jewelry could also appear on people according to the amount of money they possess."  Hm that is intresting

Except it would not make sense for any class except the leader classes, and why the hell would the most important person on a battlefield go into battle wearing fur coats and jewelry when he could be wearing armour?

Wearing jewelry wass not forbidden to carry for any one so not only leader classes can carry it.

And why not? You can carry your armour. I dont realy licke to use armour for example. And im not the only one.

Do you think they wore jewellery that had been passed down through the generations?

Why? Did i postet something from Vendel age?

To be FABULOUS! But seriously, the weapons and armor were fancy, gold plated and ornamented, same way it would make sense to go fighting in jewelry. The function of wearing rich stuff on you was very important in the Dark Ages. The Varangians and Housecarls were proffesional mercenaries, so the amount of jewelry they had reflected how well they're paid and how good they are at killing. Richer warrior = more deadly = more fearsome. Also vikings with lots of jewelry must have been succesful at raiding, which inflicts they are good at their job.

I think the number of rich tunics with patterns, jewelry and other stuff like this should positively affect the morale of nearby allied troops. This way it would have a place in gameplay, not only being fancy and that's all. Of course it should depend only on the price, the presence of mail would be as reassuring as the presence of jewelry - the proof of warrior's quality and experience. And all in all: IT LOOKS FABULOUS.

Yes. First spoiler; those beads are of an early 9th.C design from Rus yet are hung upon a late-Norman piece of thread hand made in a Chinese factory.

You have no idea, do you?

If filthy saxons can go fighting in 300 years old helmet, why not add some jewelery from different centuries?

I was jesting Dragomir. Helge has been on a rage-spree lately regarding the mixture of blade-types and pommels.

Ah yes, I've seen a bit of it, didn't read it through carefully though

About being more historically accurate, I would leave the swords alone, but remove the padded cloth from Vikingar faction and replace it with a thick leather tunic/jacket. Padded clothes as you can see in vikingr were used only by Byzantine troops in early middle ages, vikings didn't know them. Not to mention Norman gambesons from 12th Century

I agree with the padded armor. I don't agree they weren't in use, but without something extra they look, dull. Maybe add an overcoat or some cape/jewels?
