I would like to be able to choose what i go in to the tournys as and i also think you should be payed more than 5 gold for winning another suugestion is make money easiyer to get and some items cheaper

If you want to make a money, you can place a bet on yourself. If you survive in battle - you will gain ~2x money, what you placed.

Myself, I'd like to see the options for betting increased, but I think it's been mentioned before. Not sure what armagan said about it.

i know but if i do that i wnat to be a lancer and know i will win

I just want to see the betting amount raised.
Or maybe even give us an option to manually choose how much to bet.
If I want to risk 1000 gold on a fight, that should be my choice.

i think there cant be more options than 4.
becouse of the fact:

no bet->you get idiotic fighter
20->you get normal fighter
40->you get veteran fighter
80->you get champion fighter

and ther is no better than chamoion, so i think its limited to 4 options!

I don't think what you bet should be determining who you're up against.
It's simply a matter of how confident you are that you'll win.

I'll almost always win, unless I'm an archer on foot.

I think it should be...

Do you want to watch or participate?
You choose which.

Do you want to bet on the match?
You choose Yes or No.

Who do you want to bet on?
You choose Red or Blue. (you'd know what team you're on)

How much do you want to be?
And then a little window can pop up, and we can type in how much gold to bet.

Yeah: let's bet on the other team and lose on purpose. Easy money. :eek:

But I agree: the betting amount should be raised. And your team shouldn't automaticaly lose when you are knocked-out and you aren't the last man of your team standing, that would be cool.

Also, it would be nice to have some spectators or something in the top boxes where you get put if you choose to watch the match. Would add some nice window-dressing.

Also cheers if someone is knocked out, and gasps and cheers if someone gets hit.

Not exactly, no. The money does not just magically duplicate: somebody has to pay you nearly 2000 if you happen to win! I wouldn't want to be the bookie who accepts a bet of 1000 from a guy who wins a fight after another...

Um... I sat there when I started and made myself about 30,000 by doing 80 gold bets.
Basically, it would just be a nice way to save time. :smile:

Ok, my proposal:
Rise bets, but allow only one fight per day.
If you just wanna practise - add 'horse traning' option to the trainer.
I'd say that the best. Realistic, too.

One fight per day? Alright if you're doing 1000-gold bets, but at the lower levels when you're just starting off... Ugh. Yes, it is realistic, but if it's going to be limited to a single fight each day (or maybe two - one in the morning, one in the afternoon) then the straightforward prize money should be increased massively. 5 gold just wouldn't cut it. :razz:

hi

while i watched a fight in the arena once, i noticed that you can use your weapons, in fact i tryed to eliminate the team wich i wanted to lose with my crossbow. it wasnt possible, of course; the bolts where going through the enemys :sad:

would be verry funny to be able to do that, ofcourse with the penalty that you dont get your bolts/arrows/javelins back! so it would be not cheap to do that(for starters) and would have no effect since the highes bet gets you right now approx. 138 i think, and a pack of missiles costs a lot more!

but anyways, it would be a great funn factor for this arena mode. it would add the feeling of loosing some mony but not loosing the match, lets say for the honor of you team. :wink:

greetings

i like it :smile:

Some suggestions for a more "realistic" arena:

1) No bets against yourself. You'd just lose on purpose and win.

2) Increase the prize for winning a fight. 5 gold? That does not earn you a day's food...

3) First off, you would be able to bet quite a lot for your team, but as you gain fame (and notoriety) in the arena by winning just about every fight, you can no longer get as much money back for your bets, because the odds no longer favour you. You've become a "cash cow", a certain winner. This lowers the risk involved = lowers your winning rates.

4) Even after you've received the most honourable status of Cash Cow, you can still bet and win a lot of money as long as you are not fighting on the field - just appearing on the field will reduce your winnings a lot. RISK is the idea of betting, and most of these guys complaining that they can't risk 1000+ gold on a fight are whining because they know that they'd certainly win in the arena at least 3/4 of the time... But how many would be willing to bet 1000+ on a fight they can't win by themselves, on NPC Red and Blue teams?

I thought as much.

Another idea:

- Battles fought in the arena cause actual injuries. You don't die, of course, but you will waste a few days resting after a good showdown. I thought it was rather odd that I could fight dozens of battles during the first day, in the morning of the first day in fact (later on, I was surprised to find that the sky does change even in the arena)... Thanks to the arena I made 10,000 on Day 1, even though it took me many RL days. :grin:

Well, hm... nice idea, better then mine. Instead of restoring your HP fully, restore it like 3/4 after each fight. Both realistic and balanced. And you can always risk fighting fight half/full health, if you are so eager :smile:.
