The League of Extraordinary Swordsmen is a team of players dedicated to competition within the Mount & Blade: Warband Native community. The League believes in dedication to refining and improving ones skills at both the competitive meta-game and at the art of inflicting physical (virtual) violence within Warband. In order to achieve this goal, the League 's members are  organized in two broad categories to promote mentorship of new players, loyalty to the clan, and dedication to the community.

The League's competition team consists of the members recognized as among the most experienced and skilled within the clan. Ranks considered to be among this group are that of Lord, Knight, Squire, and Clan Duelist.  However, nothing within the League comes to those who do not earn it. Each of these ranks require a player to have proved oneself a master at a particular role on the battlefield. Members who wish to compete will have their mettle tested in a wide variety of difficult situations designed to stress the player at a level beyond what is considered standard play. For more information on these ranks and how certifications are acquired, you may see the next section.

The second group of players to comprise the ranks of the League are the community members. Anyone may decide to enter the League's community under the condition that he or she abide by the rules of conduct. The community is the backbone of the clan. It is where new competitive members will be sought and where those who need to be taught will be placed as they learn the skills they need for competition.

The word “fun” has yet to be mentioned up to this point. The League is more than a Warband clan, it is a group of skilled players who enjoy a high level of competition in any game they play. Though the League may seem focused on individual skill, every competitive member must be able to work within the team and understand that the goal of competition is to both win and to learn. To this end, mentorship of new players and development of a strong team cohesion are primary objectives as the League sets out on its journey to fame.

Lord - In addition to being ferociously skilled, the Lords of LES represent the most knowledgeable and skilled members of the clan who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to lead during scrimmages, arbitrate internal disputes, and use their time to support the administrative tasks associated with signing up for events, organizing scrimmages, handling skill certifications, and providing external resources such as web space and servers.

Clan Duelist - The Clan Duelist is an honored position within LES. It is a recognition of the clans most accomplished duelist. He or she may be from any competitive level within LES. Squires who attain this title are immediately awarded the rank of Knight and are privileged to use the Knight banner. Additionally, Lords and Knights who attain this title may choose to be honored as Lord-Duelist or Knight-Duelist, respectively. This rank may be attained in two ways. Either by winning an external tournament and obtaining approval of the current Knight-Duelist, or by winning the dueling championship within LES.

Knight - A knight is a true competitor - well able to hold his or her own in any number of situations they are the fiercely competitive core of the clan. With a minimum of two non-duelist certifications these members represent the clan in scrimmages and tournaments against the other clans in the Warband community.

Promotion: Promotion to lord requires more than skill in battle; it requires dedication to the clan, superior knowledge of the meta-game, and the ability to organize and communicate with the members of the clan both on and off the field.

Squire - A squire is the lowest rank an LES member may have to be considered for inclusion in competition. Squires by definition are certified competitive in at least one class. Squires are encouraged to attend all scrimmages and other competitive events. Squires who qualify as duelists are eligible to participate in the tournament for Knight-Duelist. A squire may replace a Knight during competition on maps where the Knight's certifications are not appropriate for the match up.

Promotion: Squires must attain atleast two non-duelist certifications to be promoted to Knight. A squire may also win or be awarded the position of Knight-Duelist.

Soldier - This is the highest rank a non-competitive member of LES may attain. Soldiers are the dedicated community members of LES who, while not actively competitive, remain valued members of our community for the dedication they bring to keeping Warband an active multiplayer game.

Promotion: Soldiers who receive at least one competitive certification will immediately qualify for promotion to Squire.

Recruit - New members will enter the clan at this rank. Recruits may participate in internal clan functions, but will not be considered for participation in competitive scrimmages. This rank is probationary and recruits who fail to demonstrate rudimentary activity or fail to meet the behavior standards of the community in their first month will be removed.

Promotion: There are two ways you may be promoted from recruit. After one month of active and upstanding behavior you will be asked to test for atleast one competitive certification of your choice (though you may choose to test for as many as you desire). Failure to attain a certification or refusing to take the certification will garner you a promotion to soldier. Passing one certification will gain you a promotion to squire, and passing two or more certifications will gain you promotion to knight.

Note: Certifications are not required to stay in the clan, but they are required if you wish to represent LES in competitions.

Test 1:
The player will have three chances to kill two opposing archers who have attained competitive rank within LES. The lord administering the test will determine the map used for this test but leave equipment choices up to the test participants. Both bows and crossbows are allowed.

Test 2:
The player will be paired with an infantry player against two opposing infantry. Three chances to defeat the pair will be given to the player. Friendly fire immediately disqualifies the current round. Opponents will have the rank of knight within LES, or will be approved by an LES lord. The player's teammate may be drawn from any rank within LES, as determined by the Lord administering the test.

Test 3:
The player will be paired with another archer against three opposing infantry. Three chances to defeat the opposing team will be given to the player. The lord administering the test will decide equipment for both sides of the test. Opponents will have the rank of knight within LES, or will be approved by an LES lord. The player's teammate may be drawn from any rank within LES, as determined by the Lord administering the test.

Test 1:
Three chances for the player to kill or dismount two opposing cavalrymen. The equipment of the player and the opposing cavalry is to be determined by the Lord administering the test at the time. Opposing cavalry will be selected from the ranks of the Knights and Squires in the clan or an outside source at the Lord's discretion.

Test 2:
Three chances for the player and an ally to defeat three non-cavalry opponents. The equipment of the player, his ally, and his opponents is to be determined by the Lord administering the test at the time. Opponents for the test will be selected from the ranks of the Knights and Squires in the clan or an outside source at the Lord's discretion.

Test 3:
Three chances for the player to kill or otherwise win a round against two infantry opponents during a Master of the Field situation. The player may choose his equipment but the faction will be determined by the Lord administering the test. Opponents will come from within the Knights and Squires in the clan or an outside source at the Lord's discretion.

Receiving one's infantry certification requires a player to pass four tests.

Test 1:
The player will have three chances to defeat 1 cavalry player and 1 archer. The cavalry and archer will be chosen from existing LES Squires/Knights or will be a player approved by an LES Lord. Opposing faction will vary and the candidate may select any faction he chooses.

Test 2:
The player will have three chances to defeat a pair of infantry players. The opposing infantry players will be chosen from existing LES Squires/Knights or will be players approved by an LES Lord. Faction and equipment for the opposing infantry will be announced before the test.

Test 3:
The player will have three chances to either survive for 20 seconds against three infantry players or kill at least two of his opponents. Opponents will have at least the rank of Soldier within LES and a minimum of 1 knight or squire will be present. Faction and equipment for the opposing infantry will be announced before the test.

Test 4:
The player along with an ally of any class determined by the pair will have 3 chances to defeat a pair of opponents whose classes and equipment will not be announced ahead of time. Opponents will have the rank of knight within LES, or will be approved by an LES lord.

To achieve a dueling certification you must defeat 3 duelists from a list of approved duelists within the community in a best of 13 match. Although members from the list who are not members of LES are obviously not obligated to participate they will generally be considered acceptable opponents if chosen. Dueling an opponent not included in the list and having it count toward the certification will be allowed only at the approval of the Clan Duelist or an LES Lord.

1.) LES members represent the clan to the community. Multiple permanent bans on community servers due to a failure to follow rules will not be tolerated. You are responsible for knowing the rules of competition.

2.) LES members will display a high level of sportsmanship at all times. LES members should attempt to even the teams when possible because there is nothing to be gained from crushing newer players.

3.) LES members will not use any game exploitation, cheat, macros or hack software. If you suspect another member of cheating, bring it to the attention of an LES Lord, such as LordHasek, by PM or email.

4.) There will no discrimination in LES. Racism and other forms of hate speech towards a fellow member is grounds for expulsion. Telling off color jokes over Ventrilo is allowed, but please respect the requests of others to refrain. We're all here to compete.

5.) LES Clan Members will wear their tags and be on Ventrilo while in an LES server.

6.) In general, LES Members must show respect to all other players. This is an anti-drama rule. We are here to enjoy the game, the competition, and the exceptional skill of our members. Please bring any serious problems to an LES Lord rather than promote the spread of rumors and resentment.

7.) LES strives to be serious competitors. Members are expected to improve and all senior members should treat a request to train another player as an opportunity to help the clan.

Have you seen that noob called Egard? He's so bad. That other guy called BigBoss, he's epic.

Remember. This post is solely property of BigBoss, this does not in any way represent POM.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm currently busy with a number of events this weekend, but I should have the code of conduct up by tonight or tomorrow by the latest. Any interested parties should contact me via PM or talk to me in game when they have a chance.
