Warcraft is awesome. Someone saying your art looks like it, I think at least, is a compliment!
Looking good though!

Thanks for all the praise guys, it warms my heart.

So I decided to toss in a little apetizer. I know its not friday, but since Ive been so disorderly with Friday updates lately Im sure itll be fine. Im not at home currently and wont be for another week, so I wanted to use the chance now and post some of the things I already have hosted on the net.

I havent really worked on scene props much, but here are some of the stalls for the marker in capital.

Most of the time Im working on map and map icons. I dont want to show the actual map or icons themselves just yet, so here are some of the props I use to build the icons.

These are merely parts I use to assemble the final icons, each such icon is unique, fitted to its surrounding terrain and contains points of interest of the given scene. Of course these icons are many times bigger than Native icons.

If all goes well you might see the map in 14 days.

Damn I was hoping no one would count it. Its almost here, I just need to finish one small thing.

Finaly the first half of worldmap is done! It was heck of work, but Id say it was worth it. Here, have some ingame screens:

The capital of Knights, this place is made up of four separate map icons.

Here are some of the locations found in these lands:

As mentioned above, this is just one half of the map, and because the mod is supposed to be about story telling, exploration and uncovering the world, you wont see the whole map until you actually play the game. I dont want to spoil anything for you

That's good enough to simply drop soldiers there and fight. Really, the quality is amazing

One thing that bothers me though, is that those icons are huge. So will there be some kind of indicator floating high above parties, like flags over lords in native? In mods with extensive icons I'm always doing the quick hop-in hop-out, because you never know whether someone isn't hiding in a prop. Especially in bandits-infested areas at night, where they won't notice you at hand and start following just when you approach the place.

Thanks

The icons have invisible mountain (impassable) terrain border which means no party can go "inside" the icon. As for flags for highlighting parties, I had something like that in mind, mainly for aestetic purposes though. I havent worked on any party map icons so far, so Ill know more when I try to make some and experiment.

The map is fantastic - easily one of the best (if not the best) maps I've seen in Warband.  I really like how connected, detailed, and deliberate it feels; like a civilization was built around a landscape rather than settlements randomly dropped in an open plain.  Well done.

i may be late in saying this, but the worldmap is incredible! Doesn't even look like the MnB engine

Thanks guys, your praise makes my day jolly good.
Also I hope youll be happy to hear that Im now working on terrain props for environments so the first scene might be pretty close.
No promises though

Hands down, that's some of the most beautiful mod work I've seen for Warband.  Absolutely gorgeous.

If you haven't found someone to edit the story portion for you yet, I may be available in a few weeks. Life's kind of hectic at the moment (he says, in gross understatement), but things should be settling down near the end of September. At that point, I'd love to help out if my schedule allows.

I'm planning on my own early medieval/low fantasy mod at some point in the future. The least I can do is help somebody else out with their ideas.
