Left handed all of the sudden?

Everything your character does is right handed. Why is mine using a 2 handed polearm left handed all of the sudden? Attacks to the right now are very slow yet his hand position is switched like he is right handed, but really he holds the thing left handed and its bugging the **** out of me.
