i hope you finish this mod because it looks promising on the lines of craftmod LTD put together

Well, it will have / already had a lot more features than that.  Most of them have been shoveled over to Age Of Ash, though, but of course the setting and combat style for AoA is far different.

By the time I get AoA out the door there will likely be a new version of M&B so I will have to practically start over again by the time I get back to LoM.  I do want to work on it again, but it looks like it will probably be a long time before that happens....

Hey,

I ain't hoping for this mod... I just hope the leader and a teenager like Scion, for his discontinuing of Dark Ages made me nearly die of shock. oh well, he's helping storymod now...

Back on topic

That you made hundreds of city's is amazing! o_O That you have a sorcery sytstem with some spells makes me think of 'magic ball' in Warrhammer mod... which is just a modified rock.

Anyway, if you are un-'on hold ing this ever. Good luck.

I try not to look froward to it, coz I ain't having much confidence in BIG mods. ^^

Yeah, it is true that a big ambitious mod is hard to pull off.  Thankfully the modding system gets better with each release.  When I first poked at it it was the one before .751 and it was just too crappy to do much of anything with so I gave up.  .751 was a huge improvement and so was .808, so hopefully more mods will stick to it and get accomplished in the future. I still think it's too hard for people who are not already good at programming to get into it seriously, though, which is probably why scion finally called it quits and why a lot of mods never take off.

I will definitely get back to LoM at some point and at the very least get SOMETHING released, but Age of Ash is a pretty ambitious mod and will probably take up my modding time for many months to come.  Progress on that front is going well.  The modelers and texturers are all fantastic both in quality and in the sheer volume of stuff they are making, and GD has tons of great ideas and kon_AIR has had a few ideas that will make it a lot better as well.  Their rapid progress with the art stuff has made me really tear into it as much as possible and there are a lot of new features not in any mod to date.  I will not spoil any details, but I think people are going to be very pleased and will hardly recognize it compared to the native game, and I can attest that the artwork is all topnotch and appears even better ingame than it does in the thread - and much of it has not ever been displayed in public.

A lot of the stuff is very different from LoM, but it some will help me with Lom, and I am also getting better and better with the modding system over time so maybe in a year or so I will have a nice, fully featured release for LoM and hopefully hardcore tolkien fans will be pleased with the results and non tolkien fans will be exposed to the tolkien world and hopefully get into it more - and I do think the silarillion and lost tales are the best parts of the tolkien universe, personally.

It's currently not finalized because there is something in particular I want to do with the map that's kind of special, but I intend it to be quite a bit bigger.

Hey, just because I don`t go around and brag about stuff like you (in every post it seems), does not mean I stink at it. In fact I`m finishing my master diploma in scientific software this spring, so that I might be interested in doing something else might be obvious. Stop talking like you know anything.

But noooooo, when I say ONE little thing about frickin' America, I get banned.

You lot should be reported, or stop *****ing at eachother :p

And Bryce, sounds awesome. I just hope you get around to finish it SOME day :p

Thanks.  And I will get to it...some day, when AoA is done.  I have actually been getting the urge to open it up again because I have learned new stuff that will help with lom a lot, but I know if I go back and forth I will never get anything done.

And I have been banned before, so I will take that down...though I don't think it is probably banworthy.

I called the Merkins merkins, and called some people twits. I got banned for it, apparently.

Heh, I know the feeling. I'm cursed with starting too many projects at the same time - I rarely finish any of them

Yeah, you have to be careful here. There are many moderators and a lot of nonsense going on so sometimes they get tired of it and get into ban mode.

i can't believe i missed this mod, sounds really interesting... can you guys post some more screens?

It is on hold for now as I do AoA.  When I resume work on it I will put up more screenshots, but that probably will not be til fall at the earliest.

ooh autumn's in a long time: it's like 6 months! I'm sure AoA won't take 6 months to develop!

Well, it will probably the biggest mod for M&B to date, when you look at the amount and complexity of quests and dialog to be done.  Even if I miraculously do one full city worth of quests per week (which involves thinking them up as well) then that comes to at least three more months of work. I am also going to need a break from modding once it's done, I'm guessing.  Not to mention bugfixes, but I hope to avoid bugginess as much as possible through playtesting it a lot before release.

It's definitely already the biggest as far as art assets go...by a pretty wide margin.  I was going through brfs in all the mods I have downloaded just to see and I was blown away by how much more stuff those guys have done than any mod to date (at least that I have downloaded), and the list of stuff done (which is all good) just grows and grows.
