Leading Lords

I've searched the forums for topics regarding this and was kind of surprised to have found none.

Does anyone have any idea how much standing with a lord/renown is necessary to get a lord to follow you when asked to do so?

NO idea here, I got Age of Machinery and became king, or you can become Marshall, then those fags HAVE to listen to you.

You have to have relations over 50. Might be higher, but I think it's 50. Mine was 56 with King Ragnar and when I asked him to follow me I was surprised to see him say yes.

I asked that while my relations were 99 with him, and he didn't follow me, so...

It appears so. I earned more renown, and then he followed me.

It's a combination of honor, relation, renown, and possibly faction relation as well.

I tried to make king Harlaus follow me.
Relation to Harlaus is +100
Relation to Swadians is +37
And My Renonw is 900
And he still said that "That would be hardly proper, why you don't follow me?"
Why he doesn't want to follow ?

I know it is voted who is marshall, but is it only a luck, if you are candinant to be voted ?

You need a lot of renown, 1000+, if I remember, to be even in the running. After that, when the previous marshall is defeated in battle, an election is held.

I've honor some -20 or so (I just don't release the captured fellas), renown around 1900, I'm the marshal, and the lords DO follow me. Not all, of course. Those that don't are ones who don't like me (for the reasons I don't know).

Heh, well, I'm a horse archer of the Khanate, so no chivalry stuff here possible But to the subject - I noticed this many times during my previos games - once I enter any kingdom there appears a couple of folks whose relation to me is -20 or so... I've no idea why it happenes so, but surely these "enemies" of mine won't ever follow me nor will they join me to help in battle.

Erm...possibly because you're not a cavalier horse archer in shining cloth, but the black...silked...archer with a flaming black horse. Yes, that's it.

It's because of honor. The lower it is, the less honourable lords will enjoy your presence, and the more dishonourable Lords will enjoy your presence. This is flipped if you have higher honor. However, when you are awarded a fief, you take it from another Lord, insta-dropping your relation, as well. Suck up to them to get them to like you.

And if you are the dashing champion, there are also the lords who dislike you because you are not a dark rider oppressing the defenseless, but a shining warrior on a white horse.

The King will follow you even if you're not a Marshal, I've found.
