Anyone noticed that just the launcher is consuming more than 25% CPU time?

It is burning a core. Why?
It does not do anything!
I could understand if it was animated or something but it is static... so just there contemplating it's belly button in a tight loop.

This is how I feel about the whole game every time I have lag. Why? What is it doing on the inside that is so hard? It just looks the same old M&B stuff going on to me.
I blame too many trees and shrubberies.

Okay, "dissected" for you...
Seems like a lot a processing going on with "ntdll.dll", and "clr.dll".
For "clr.dll" I know a bit, it is part of .NET framework, the underlying programming platform for this game.

Mine hovers around 16%.

The launcher may been looking for multiplayer cheating software on your PC. It may be doing a hardware survey and sending the data back to Taleworlds. It is a lot of CPU usage for an idle program.

Oh, that's an even better conspiracy. It's a keylogger sending all your personal details directly to Erdogans regime.

I mean, Riot's newest title "Valorant", puts a rootkit in your PC. Riot is owned by Tencent (China). From there, use your imagination.

I play using Bannerlord exe file, skipping launcher CPU drain

Seem like resources (i.e. CPU) are released once the game is launched. Using Bannerlord.exe to launch seems to be roughly the same, or maybe worse (more threads are created). See screenshot below.

I did not mean to imply that it is doing anything nefarious.

:xf-tongue:

It is obviously doing SOMETHING though. Visual Studio at idle is only using 5% of my CPU. Not sure why a launcher that is just waiting for user input would be using any more than that.
