Late game issues.

Hello everyone, I'm on a Battanian save with 1100+ days or so. We have most of the map, the only factions remaining are Khuzait, Southern Empire, Aserai and Vlandia. Khuzait are on a serious decline and any faction that goes to war with us gets absolutely demolished very fast. That's all great but here's the issue, whenever we declare war, wars last like.. 5 to 8 days...? It's usually enough to siege maybe a castle or a city and boom, peace. And it's lasting peace, since the new patch changes give a minimum of 30 days peace.

Before we took Sturgia's last 2 castles they declared war on us and we are still at war for quite a while now, though they are at faction strength 0. Of course, devs have have not implemented faction destruction yet and the only way, is to execute lords. I haven't executed anyone yet and won't, as I simply don't like losing all those relations. And now I just have to sit around in my town or kill infinite hideouts and bandit parties, which is infinitely boring. There's nothing to do, if we get war with Khuzaits it lasts 5 to 8 days, if we get war with Vlandia, same crap. It's boring and there's nothing for my character to do but sit in one spot and hope for a war, which lasts a week lol. It makes no sense for us at 20k strength to be accepting a weaker faction's offer of peace, we should just steamroll them and get it over with.. The other factions seem to be fighting for prolonged periods, right now Southern Emp and Khuzait are fighting and Vlandia is fighting the Emp as well.

I don't think I've seen a thread with this issue so far, maybe there is, anyone have similar experiences?

I've seen some similar things but it was in an old save from before they changed all the war declaration stuff recently, so it's hard to draw conclusions. Haven't really reached super late game yet in the more recent patches.

There seems to be some randomness involved, you can load a recent save and get a different result.

They actually have but it doesn't always happen for some reason. It will say "The king of ____ has given up all hope and their lords have joined other factions" or something like that, I forget the exact words. So you end up with Rhagea a Vlandian or whatever.

That's weird, Northern and Western empire have been technically destroyed for years in my game and they have not given up at all. This playtrough wasn't started so long ago (patch wise) weird..

Yeah same thing happened to me with Sturgia, never gave up even after I conquered the whole map.

Seeing the same thing as you now after a few years in 1.4

Sturgia, Northen Empire and Aserai were wiped out after about 3 years. Battania and Western Empire have been embroiled in a bitter struggle for the entire game, barely a moment of peace. Everyone else has turned completely pacifist, only declaring war for a few days at a time.

Also, none of the eliminated factions have given up. Raganvad, Lucon, and Unqid are still roaming around declaring war on people, despite having had no fiefs for a number of years.

It rather comical when they declare war on each other. In my game Sturgia just declared war on the Northern Empire. Both of them have been eliminated for more than a year. Perhaps the lords are planning to get together for a dance fight like in West Side Story.
