I've personally run battles of 700+ on my old computer but can't run even 200 on my crappy laptop. Here please post your largest recorded battle size along with pictures ( must or it didn't happen). This is a chance for people with beefy pcs to brag. So please do post your largest battle sizes so that everyone can see just how large battles can really get.

P.S: You can manually tweak the battle size past 1000 in the rgl config file by searching for the battle size line at the very bottom and changing the value to a very high value. Do not remove the zeroes as they serve some purpose.

There's a program called battlesizer which lets you set battles of upto 1000. You can go 1000+ by doing what I said in the original post.

What kind of a system are you running it on?

I don't think the system matters beyond a certain point.  I have an i7 and 16 gigs of fast, name-brand RAM.  Everything runs smooth at any battle size up to 300.  At 301, everything starts stuttering.  I've read enough comments from others who have noticed the same thing that I suspect there are some hard-coded limits built into the engine itself that constrains the practical battle size to 300.  That number seems a little too coincidental: precisely double the normally allowable maximum battle size.

I run at 330 (battlesize = 2.5) and it's smooth as long as I don't have all units in sight when they're all engaged.
[email protected], 8Bg RAM, GTX 660 Ti.

For example there was a bit of stuttering when I took this pic as the cavalry crashed into my infantry.  But as soon as I turned towards my archer line to deal with the riders there it went back to being smooth.

The mod you play will have an impact though.  Some have models that are not so well optimized, and some mods have troops with a very wide variety of equipment which is a bigger drain on memory to load all those different objects.

Also I wonder if the quality of troops engaged plays a factor too.  If all troops engaged have very high weapon proficiencies they will all make much more swings per second than low tier troops, which will demand more calculations on the system.

I have 1 gb Ram only and the thing with all the soldiers being on screen may have something to do with your graphics card not being able to process all thos textures. The game was originally designed for 32 bit systems which can only support upto 2 GB ram in any application. 64 bit systems cab bypass this by doing some command line crap which I can't remember. As long as you have more than 2GB ram you can remove this restriction. I think I may have read about on the Full Invasion Troubleshooting forum.
Full Invasion 2 removes these restrictions thus being the reason you need a 64 bit pc to run it.

I suspect the battle size you can have without it stuttering obscenely is related to graphics and AI settings as well. I used to love large battles in the original M&B but honestly I can only run about 150 in current Warband comfortably on a mid range laptop. But I don't feel like lowering settings since Warband graphics and AI are hardly stellar. AI sucked terribly in M&B but those 700 men battles I could do sure were epic...

Ah well played the game to death, it's funny how I keep visiting the forum when I barely play multiplayer, and even less singleplayer any more.  Need to get rid of the habit to save me some time before Bannerlord

So, how's a battle with 300 men different than one with 150?
Twice as much troops means twice the CPU/VRAM/RAM required to run smoothly.
I can run around 200v200 on my good PC.

I'm especially interested to see if anyone comes up with a battle size of 1000 or above. Remember to post pictures for tangible proof.

I tried doing 750v750 one time, but the game crashed as soon as I started the battle, so I don't have pictures.
