Large scale warfare

So basically I'm looking for another game, any large scale. Strategy, fps, sci fi, anything. It just has to capture the feeling of a large scale firefight, of a war going on around you. Games like battlefield, arma, freespace 2, men of war, red orchestra, mount and blade ect. I've been looking all over, and i can't really find anything to scrath that itch. Suggestions?

From Rome Total war to the newest Total war games do that just fine. Medieval 2 is you set in Medieval Europe with a little of the Americas late game, and the Empire and Napoleon total war games do the same I think cept with the Renascence and Gunpowder age. Forgive me if I am wrong on those last two, my PC can't handle those two's demo's so I am not buying the games until we get money coming in again.

FFS Empire is 18th Century. If you've never played a game that fits what he's looking for - instead of guessing - you could just try, you know, not posting.

Whatever. Just so you don't start whining because you think I'm picking on you, I'll go ahead and point this out as well:

OT, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, while not really providing constant firefights (Unless you really try hard to make it that way) do have an excellent passive and large scale environment where **** goes on all around you. Any other large scale RTSes that haven't been mentioned already probably fit the bill as well.

Armas great, I've been thinking about getting it. I've designed some great battles in the editor with like 300-400 plus guys that are just fantastic. I've played all the total war games to death, total masterpieces. Hearts of iron never really caught on with me, too much strategy too little fighting, same with x3. Fallout is also a great game. I've been dieing to play MAG, but i have no ps3.

Stalker Call of Pripyat is decent for this. Especially in the starting area, there's been times when I've found myself in the middle of a firefight between two factions that don't give a damn about me. Once the gunshots and grenade blasts die down, scramble out to scavenge weapons and ammo

While I do agree that the game is good, I don't think it fits what he wants much. It feels more like a Battlefield game Star wars version in third person.

do people really still play ww2 online? I cam really close to trying it, but assumed it was dead. Battlefront is actually one of my favorite games, I almost cried when they canceled the third

I don't think it's that great tbh, but it fits the bill of giving you large scale combat and chucking you in the middle.
