Lance looks like spear

The lance seems to look just like the spear, not like a lance like the one used in the tourny.

And that is having in mind that you cannot use spears to charge. *pouts*
I still insist that all 'piercing damage only' polearms should be able to be couched.

It would help to have something on the weaopn description before you buy it to define which Polearms can be crouched into a charge. I'm sure you could crouch with a spear, but its obviusly no where near as good as the more specialised lance.

I tried that before, and could not do it... *scratches head* I'm too young to have marasmus!
Hmm... perhaps that was because I had lousy riding skill and equally lame horse? That'll explain it.
Ok, it's fine, then.
So, it's official:
You can couch any polearm!

I couched a pitchfork with a new character, but it was utterly useless. I found that throwing small pieces of blu-tack at my opponents was a more effective means of attack.

What does everyone mean by a crouched polearm? Is that the readied position while on horse (to pierce?)

COUCHED, not "crouched".

Anyway, it's that position in wich you ready your weapon for impact against a poor fellow... you know, heavy cavalry charge, that sort of stuff

Hmm... thinking of it... Armagan, could it be possible to create another type of horse? One made SPECIFICALLY for extreme speed? Right now the fastest horse has a speed of 10 (courser/saddle horse), how about a... hmm... "Runner" horse with a speed of 13? Perhaps with low turning rate, high charge rate.

i dont get it! whats the real use for a couched spear/lance ingame? when i was riding with any kind of "cheaper" spear/lance it never lowers when i come to full speed.
should it do damage without the need to press the "attack" button???

i was never able to ride "through" someone with the "cheaper" horses!(i only played demo to lvl6).


can someone clear things up for me?

Yes.

First: you need a fast horse, with a speed of 9 or better.

Second, you need to go to full speed... you SHOULD see your character lowering his polearm.

All you have to do now is aim for an enemy, you do NOT need to press the attack button.

What is that you get? Triple damage

ok lets see if i have understanded it right!

the lance does not lower when the horse is slower than 9?(right???)

what happens when i press "attack" while charging? is triple damage cancled and normal applied?

well, since you do not need to press the attack button, i never pressed the attack button

Even better a proper charge in this mannor cant be blocked and it will shatter shields too. Just ont press attack you dont need too.
